Hard to find VHS format only Les Banks doc, "The Blues According to Lightnin' Hopkins". A beautiful sun soaked trip to Texas.

Les Blank is one of my favorite filmmakers.
You can find bits and pieces of that one chopped up on YouTube. Nice to see the entire thing all together. He's pretty protective of his copyrights. So, I wouldn't be surprised if that gets taken down.

AH yes, woops, it is Les Blank, goes a little ways to explain why this was always so hard to find on the 'net. I watched a handful of Les Blank films available for rent at Scarecrow Video here in Seattle years ago, the first of which was "Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe" the title alone was too good to pass on, glad I took a chance on it. Here's a link for anyone interested in seeing it, it's great but not musical so I'll put it in the NSFW.
