Me! Also, if someone is still needed to master/arrange/order the tunes I'll officially throw my name into the hat.

Went to record some proper bits for mine, only to find all the guide tracks I did are slightly flat. :grumpy: That was a waste of time then.

i've got the double drums going for "Beauty and the Beast"...i'm not entirely delighted with the sound, but it's good enough to boogie with. i'm not trying for deathless masters that will live forever, after all, just having some fun. once i get the drums done, doing the bass is going to be a total gas.

Awesome! Beauty and the Beast is probably the cover I want to hear the most.

Pretty sure I have one of two super srs guitar tracks completely done! With massive doubling in some parts too. :animal: Probably pissed off everyone in the house and neighbouring houses recording a 10 minute song the whole way through at least 3 times but it sounds goood. I'll have to get some crappy vocals done before I do the second guitar track though :( I want there to be some interplay stuff for coolness, which is where recording a some by yourself falls apart a little. I always put off recording because I think it'll suck then really enjoy doing it when I start.

Also this has made me reaaaally want to start a doomy band.

MMmmmmmkay, finally got off my ass and laid down a basic drum track. Er, on my ass. This is gonna be kind of ghetto since I'm using Garageband's instruments for everything other than guitar and vocals.

I really honestly do want to contribute something to this, but I have a feeling that it'd come out waaaaay too, oh..."Dynamite with a Lazerbeam"-y, rather than a decent cover. And, I can't play drums. Mostly that second one.

IMO, a cover that is recognizable from the original is not a good cover.

I think recognisable is ok, but in the same style/instrumentation, like you're trying to copy it? Not cool. I think the house will be empty later today, so loud guitar recording time! :joy:

K that was an exaggeration, but yeah, just not an exact copy. That's what lame highschool metalheads do.

True story.

Did a whole bunch of recording for station to station today, got most of the guitar and bass recorded, it sounds pretty good. Kinda wish I did it slower and doomier though... :( Pretty sure when I started recording I was like "this is SO SLOW what the hell", but it definitely isn't slow enough. Shit is 10 minutes long at this speed though, so :erm:

What sort of stage is everyone else at with this?
