yep, they were backwards. Just rewired them like yours, and now the pedal works has it should, i can actually control the volume now. I bet jwar made the same mistake.

Wiring a pot backwards, meaning 3 and 1 being switched, should just reverse the sweep. So the typical min would be max, and vise versa.

Here's mine...still not working. Not sure what's wrong at this point. I'm going to get a new board though and give it another shot.

if you compare your board to mine, the IC's are inverted. the 4049 should be in the other socket!!

I uploaded the wrong pic by accident. The ICs have been changed. Nothing but awful really fucking loud noise.

do you have a multimeter? why not just troubleshoot it? if they provide a schematic, you should post it and I'll tell you where to check voltages. worst case scenario is you need to buy new IC's. still cheaper than buy a new PCB's

Did you wire the pots like the instructions said you should? if you did that's your problem. The instructions number the pots 123, it should be 321 like in the pcb

backwards pots do not make the pedal no worky. they just make the pots backwards.

i had mine backwards and the pots didn't just work backwards. The gain was always on the same level, or on min, there was also lots of more noise and weird sounds going on.

I thought the instructions said to wire it 3,2,1? I'm confused. So the wire go from left to right starting with 1 correct?

Yea I'm not too sure what I've done wrong at this point. It was a fucking BITCH to get the resistors and capacitors out of the board. I'm not even sure if I damaged the board. I could have for all I know. I'm going to order a new one and populate it the correct way. My OCD is not going to allow this to rest. I can get this motherfucker to work! I know it!

1) test voltages before you remove board components. its too late now since you already removed them.
there is a really easy way to know if the board is usable. just set your meter to Ohms or continuity.
2) test the board to see if it is still good before you say "its broken"
this is how you learn. it was frustrating when I was learning this stuff too. I think the ability to not give up or at least come back to it tomorrow is VERY valuable in DIY. when you loose, don't loose the lesson. I could not get my first hand DIY experience from any book or school. seriously. this is it. unless you are not interested in DIY and you just want to play guitar. thats fine too. everyone on ILF told me not to give up so I thank them now for that advice I got then.

I'll try this out! I definitely enjoy DIY so far, so I'm not going give up. Something very satisfying about having a finished working product. My hopes is to one day be actually good at it. lol
