That's a pretty good price on both the Musicman and the V4.
The cab that comes with the V4 probably won't sound great for bass but for an extra $150, I'd buy it and flip it (or just the speakers) if I were you.

Good luck, keep us posted.

I have one of those. Actually it was my first amp. They have a SS pre and a tube power section, very fendery sounding... they can be a bit hissy and they distort a little on really low lows so if you play a active fiver then it is not the best amp in the world if you want cleans. Dirty... well the pre at 10 is a crusty/fuzzy sound, very much 70's punk type of sounds. If you go the other way though, cranking the master and turning the pre up till you hit the power tubes you can get some cool sounds, which yes will be loud

:snax:

I just got done wailing on this thing until my fingertips turned raw.

Wow, that tube tone changes everything! What is current in my line up sounds completely different, a lot darker which makes my TAFM sound like an ECT! ( in my opinion)

It is very sensitive to volume I have always keep my volume on my bass cranked so it was giving off a rad distortion sound when I was playing with just a clean tone ( I play the bass very fucking hard, like I am going to murder it) but managed to figure it out.

What a difference having a nice amp makes, it really got the spark back into music yet again for me so I am excited what the next few weeks will turn out.

More pictures later, now I am going to have some :snax: take a break and get back into it before the wife comes home.

Did I mention its fucking loud?

oh lord.

I need to completely re think my effect set up now that actually have an amp. I also forgot to mention that I got a Empress Super Delay in a trade with Eric and its staggering how many options there on on that thing. The rest of the money half of which is still on its way, will most likely be sunk into getting new board with power supply and figuring out what I want on my board.
