With an Alan Lomax sourced backing vocal ensemble.

(It just might work!)

Clifford Brown is GOD! I have somewhere in my collection, his swan song performance. It was a live taping that was recorded literally a few hours before his death. And that man was on fire. He played that fucking trumpet beautifully. I liked his style more than Fats Navarro, and dare I say, more than Miles. So weird, ironic and sad, that album

what i really had to think about with the acoustic group was the vocalists. the instrumentalists were relatively easy in that i wanted people who could tilt towards jazz or modal improvisation, but for leads i needed a female singer who could do soft and loud, a male singer with the soft ingenue voice, and a male singer that could sing the blues and also sing harmony, and they had to have styles that were individual but versatile. the backing singers were all about blend; once i had C&N i needed a girl to sing high with Graham who could blend well and work with the jazz angle, and after thinking for awhile i thought of Linda, who sang backups on Neil Young's Harvest and American Stars and Bars and also made a stunning vocal appearance on Carla Bley's Escalator Over The Hill. then i wanted a fourth voice who could blend well and sing at either end of the spectrum, and Paul could do that and also do American and British pronunciation.

Better put some plastic down on the floor...heeeeeeeeeeere's The Vomit Chokers.

You could do a double drumkit thing with John Bonham too.

Not sure about Bonham for this. Going for more of a punk vibe. More swagger and spit. Might could use a second guitarist though. Johnny Thunders would be a good fit I think. Thunders / Lynott / Scott vocal harmonies... Can you imagine?

I would :omg: :!!!: :omg:  if I saw this on an album sleeve:

Vocals: Richard Ashcroft
Rhythm Guitar: Graham Coxon
Lead Guitar/Backing Vox: Noel Gallagher
Bass: Dougie Payne
Drums: Phil Selway
Keys: Thom Yorke
Symphonic Arrangement: Johnny Greenwood
Backup Vox: Beth Gibbons, Isobel Campbell, Damon Albarn

I kinda hate that I have 3 members from Radiohead. I didn't want to be that guy. Well at least 2 of them have gigs for filling roles that you wouldn't automatically assume. Couldn't think of a UK drummer that I like more than Phil, and I would've put Chris Martin  on keys if I didn't go with Thom.
