In my covers band, we've been unhappy with our guitarist for over a year now. He's been dragging his ass on learning new songs, playing like a zombie at shows, and just generally having no fire anymore. Had a heavy band meeting last night where we confronted him about his slacking and bullshit. He said he'd try to work on it. Then he left and we all voted that we're going to start looking for a new guitarist anyway. We all agreed on a guy that we all know that's in another band we've played with before, that we're going to zero in on and see if we can steal him.
The shitty thing is that we've all been friends for like 10 years and it sucks that I'm going to have to kick him out of the band. The cool thing is that the guy we're going to ask to join is a fucking amazing guitarist, and maybe getting a new guitarist will really light a fire and we'll go back to challenging ourselves and learning hard, kick-ass songs.
Well, just two practices later, and our guitarist bagged out of another practice. So we just talked to the guy we want to replace him with, and he said he's down to come down tonight and jam. Fuck yeah! I can't wait to jam with a guitarist who actually gives a shit.
Also, had my job interview today, I think it went pretty damned well. Now to sit and wait for an offer ...

took the truck out to get diagnosed as to why it wouldn't pass smog, which i have to do to get it registered. i was afraid it was going to cost three or four hundred dollars; it wound up costing $107. if i didn't have to relocate in a few weeks, i would SO be shopping for a Squier Jaguar right now.

Seen the first video for one of my bands. High-def blu-ray clarity and brutal as shit.
So very, very nice. Makes me wish I still had my long hair though.

Just set up an interview on Monday with a really good design firm for a front end developer position.
If I get this job it will completely change my life.

After a very long and shitty last couple of work days with an end of one of my bosses yelling at me I sat with my wife and talked last night. She really is the better half of me when I need it. My dad stepped in and made me feel better and if I did get fired from my job I would have a safety net to fall back on. I wouldn't even need to sell any of my gear.
I am really lucky to have two people who are amazing and supportive of me. Weather I am right or wrong.

Thanks man.
If I get it... It will be so great. I've been working insane hours, and studying nearly every moment I have free. I'm hoping it pays off, and I can take another step forward in my career.
