Also I 1000% agree :joy:

I also wish I'd never heard of a Nagra, but then again Gene Hackman

I like the DS-1 with the treble all the way up into a bright amp. There is a rig rundown of the guy in XTC running it like that on youtube.

DS-1 boosting fuzz is also a good one

Yeah, I was given that one and don’t love it. The most sense I can make of that whole vibe is adding the Jose Arredondo diode-clipping mod vibe to a stock non-master-volume Marshall—there’s some boost, but the main distortion character addition is some high frequency hash and maybe a bit more broken glass. So a hair metal boost. The best sounding demos I’ve heard, including MXR/Dunlop’s, lean into this.

Which isn’t how I’ve tried to use mine, and maybe that’s part of why it lies fallow. With the tone down to make it less harsh and hasty and hollow, it got pretty unimpressive. But it didn’t seem worth the effort to ditch it for the $45 going rate.

This is a zone that has been opening my eyes. I need to get it out and mess with it in a treble-booster/exciter mode like I’ve gotten into for low-gain Rat use. I could see that maybe being workable for me.

DS-1 with treble over 11:00 should be forbidden in my eyes (and ears!). :|: I really, really don't like this pedal.

Vongon with the ultra-rare Saturday drop. I guess that's one way to do it, if you want to monopolize the day.

I'd be interested in hearing some synth demos of that Vongon delay. I have the reverb and it's a really nice sounding pedal with my synths so I'm hoping this one is too.

Here are some synth plucks:

I would probably use it like this most of the time:

^recording a loop & then moving the time pot to get glitching sounds without altering pitch. Also, at the end of the Fireghosting video, if you use external MIDI, it can handle Ultratap-esque rapid stutters & soundscapes.

No pitch change with time change is a turn-off.

But price makes it outside my (admittedly narrow) consideration range.

Sounds/looks pretty good though.

Seems like it will pitch change with the sliders but not with the time knob.

The new version of the Life Pedal adds a footswitch for Octave, which is fun.

I still like the look of the v1 the most, but this is pretty good
I recently sold my V2, but I might have to get a V3 because that looks cool
