Yeah the other is for a friend who, up until a week ago, lived with me. But Scott said mine is coming back shortly. Still interested in sending off the prototype to anyone who's got the necessary hardware!
While it's optimized for the Organelle, anyone with PureData and a MIDI/computer interface could use it if you also open up the Desktop Mother patch at the same time!

I'm finally starting to get the hang of the basics of this thing.

Being able to control the Attack and Decay of one of the specific N modes is a really great feature. This whole thing is great. I don't get how the FDBK switch works but all in due time I guess.

Best I can tell, feedback is for overdubbing or re-processing your already processed sound. It has no effect unless record is engaged.

So I tested my Organelle patch and got it functioning perfectly. Mapping pitch transformation intervals to a keyboard is an absolute game-changer on this thing. Even better, plugging in an external controller with a greater range increases the overall pitch manipulation range on the 856 - I was doing some notes down 2-3 octaves yesterday and it was incredible.

Sounds awesome, let's hear a demo!

This pedal sold out pretty fast, but only a few Demos?
Learning curve / hill / mountain? Must be difficult to control it?

There are a few examples of me using it on my Instagram (@EvanGordon) - I have to do a little tweaking in order to get the MIDI keyboard working again, but the keys controlling pitch shifting part are definitely there.

I dunno, I might be in the minority here but if you actually read the manual, follow the tutorial, and spend 1-2 hours sitting in front of it, you should honestly be able to start composing with it pretty quickly. I have almost no issue going from vague rhythmic/pitch ideas in my head to a pretty accurate implementation on the 856, so long as they're not beyond the scope of the 856 itself. It looks daunting, but it's actually pretty intuitive once you learn the switch/knob layout. There are a few things every now and then that really make me scratch my head, but going back and figuring those out aren't very difficult.

I wish I felt more confident in my ability to do a demo for the thing - I know how to make it work, but explaining it in words and getting a good video seem like they'd be difficult for me. I've never done gear demos before but I'd love to actually have a go at it with this if I can figure out the logistics.

I checked it out, looks pretty sweet. It took me a second to realized the changes weren't hitting until the loop cycles, even though I knew that from reading it in here somewhere. I feel like a demo could really just be longer videos of just that stuff? Seems legit man!

Thanks! I think I might try and knock out a video at some point - I just feel like it'd have to be largely targeted towards people who already know how to use the 856 if my patch tutorial were to be educational/informative. I sent it over to a guy named Simon The Magpie who said he'd demo the patch on his YouTube channel when he gets a chance as well!

Been super busy, finally got a chance to plug it in and play with it for a bit.

It's a lot easier to use this time around because it's on the floor and I can actually, use the foot switches with my feet.

It is super easy to layer and get ethereal and turn some knobs and end up with cool stuff.

Here's a quick clip recorded with my phone just quickly for snapchat/instagram, so it's super short. The 856 isn't doing anything too crazy like it can here.

I'll record some stuff proper soon.

Have any of you implemented the 856 into your setup to the point where you're using midi or have any of you "got it!" so well that you've been performing with it? I know what I'm doing about 80% of the time but I really want to use it to it's full potential. What controllers are any of you using with this thing?

Will do, just been super busy and I had to build a new production machine, so no great way to record until I iron out the kinks.

I also plan to make a max for live interface so I can control the whole thing from my computer.

Scott is mailing me a replacement today or tomorrow. When I get it back I've decided that I'm gonna try and make a real in-depth tutorial video
