Really considering ordering a mother for my bass. First, does anyone have any thoughts and/or played through one with a bass? Looking for some advice, been playing through a old school Laney solid state, which has been giving me some kickass tones through both my rick and 'sploder, though it does clip a bit, could be time for a service. From the description it seems like it would fit the bill for what I play, mostly mild fuzzy, slightly overdriven bass. A mix out of doom, sludge, and 80s metal riffin. Lookin' for some more headroom though. I would use pedals for the rest. Though a footswitch to switch channels would be awesome. I can#t find any damn vids with a bass for it though. Anyone on here have one so they can snag a bass and play some riffs for me? Thoughts? Advice?

Ehhh, I think after looking at this thread almost daily for a while, I may have talked myself into one of these in the somewhat near future (because my Beta Lead is kinda just ok, and my 20-year dream of owning a sunn model t might not be worth it). Though, I don't think my neighbors will like it (I've never turned th Beta Lead above 2 at home, but it hasn't left my house either). Time to build a sound proof room!

Science just announced a new amp! The Sister. http://scienceamps.format.com/sister

From their facebook page
100W two channel version of our 200W MOTHER amplifier. More details here! http://scienceamps.format.com/sister
Full details:

New for 2015! The Sister amplifier shares the same DNA as its 200W Mother, but at 100W with two foot-switchable channels and tube-buffered effects loop.

The Sister's two channels offer a wide range of sounds from punchy clean tones to a unique overdrive channel that straddles the line between vintage & modern. Both channels feature their own dedicated Gain and master Loudness controls to obtain the perfect balance when switching.

The Normal channel has a HIFI-like clean tone that is balanced and perfect as a pedal platform. From wide-open and clean to warm and vocal. Of course you can always crank up the Gain and Loudness for a guttural 70's-era bark!

The Overdrive channel's gain control sweeps from a bold crunch to articulate pummeling high gain. The 6-way "Depth" control is now dedicated to the Overdrive channel only, which provides some EQ independence between channels. The Depth governs the bass reponse and lowend clipping characteristics in the preamp, and varies the overdrive tone form tight and defined to loose and gnarled. Between the Depth, Bass, and Resonance controls, there's a ton of control over the Sister's low end voice.

In addition to the effective 3-band EQ, both channels also share a Presence control that can smooth out or enhance upper harmonic content, as well as a wide-range Resonance control that shapes the power amp's low and low-midrange character from dense and thunderous to focused and tight.

Features at a glance:
  • Completely hand-wired with high-quality components throughout.
  • All-tube signal path.
  • Rugged, low-noise construction.
  • Normal and Overdrive channels with individual Gain and Loudness controls.
  • 6-way rotary Depth control for Overdrive channel.
  • Shared Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence and Resonance controls.
  • All tube buffered FX loop tuned for use with common effects pedals (opposed to line-level rack gear).
  • Two speaker outputs at 4, 8, or 16 Ohms.
  • 100W output section, accepting EL34, 6L6, and KT88 tube types.
  • User-adjustable dual bias controls and test points on rear panel for bias monitoring and quick, easy tube changes.
  • 4 x 12AX7 preamp tubes and 1 x 12AT7 driver tube.
  • Custom birch ply cabinets with two-tone tolex covering options.
  • Custom laser-machined aluminum chassis, and reverse printed classic plexi face plates.
  • Dimensions: 24” W x 11” D x 11” H (11.625 with feet).
  • Made in the USA.

Nice. Yeah there's a 100w on there too. If I sell both my amps and time it write I'd be able to grab one but then would need a cab which would take a bit longer.

Anyone want a traynor ycv80 or music man hd130 2x12 or both?!

I've had a Hellhawk for about a year now, just finished demodding it back to stock. Alex made it like a 70s Super Lead with more gain than a usual Hellhawk but it ended up being too buzzy and bright sounding for me.

Crashed my car the other day so I sold it because I'm moving anyways and put a deposit on a Mother. I think I wanted one before I wanted a Hellhawk but money never worked out until now.

Tube driven dual reverb unit from that Street Sweeper on every song. Ever.

I'm saving pennies for one of these. I always think I'm set on a hellhawk, then I watch the street sweeper video and dream of the boundless reverb. Ugh. I know this is strange, but I think I might be happier with pedal dirt and tube reverb than the reverse.
