Sleeping in hammock. Can't wait to do this in 2021 again.

P.S.: I have several new bikes and building a fixed gear low pro brakeless with a custom steel frame. So I owe you guys some pics

Here it is! My awesome new Miele all tuned up and ready to go.... New brakes plus interrupter handle brakes so I can bike upright for urban commuting, original seat put back on, new tape & cables.... the only issue is my $2 bell from my old bike is orange so it clashes with my yellow bar tape.

I started cycling this week for work, about 8km to the office, I bike all day (usually 10-20km) seeing clients and then home, I froze my fucking ass off on Monday so hopefully in the next two weeks the weather will be warm enough to go 4-5 days per week.

Spooky graveyard photo courtesy of my lovely wife who also bought a bike for herself this year after 20 years and she took to it immediately. We were all over last week having a hella fun time.

Friend of mine helped me finish up some stuff to turn my old Kawasaki into what we are calling a "Super Commuter"

Plan is to ride to work one day a week when weather gets better. (One day is all I can do and not mess up soccer pickups for the kids)

We did a ton of work,
New Brakes
Switched to 3x7 from 3x6 with much better climbing range
shifters and things of that nature
and lower resistance tires.

I have a bag coming in for the back and have to get my lights and such on.
May change out my saddle at some point as well.

Pretty pumped about this.

Bike is amazing!!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

you need the matching bell!

The brake lever idea is super smart, it's one of the sketchiest parts of road biking around town for me.

Yeah it’s great - my old bike had those drop levers underneath but apparently they stopped making them because they are not safe - but having interrupter brakes really makes a difference in the city because I don’t want to out my head down and you know..... DIE!

(I went on a lot of bike forums to read up on them and people are very divided but I think they are just phenomenal!)

Do you have a link to the ones you installed?

I have a pretty crap neck at this point so living in the drops is the worst

What's the deal with no-one having mudguards? Do you all live in the middle of the Australian desert?

My tech ordered and installed them so I can only attach a pic and hope it makes sense. I had bought a pair from a shop but they didn’t fit and I had to return them.

never even thought about mudguards, usually I don't ride in clothes I plan on wearing later, it's muddy here but my plan with work commuting was the change when I got here.

And thanks for the brake pics, that does help.

If I cycle for work I will be outside all day so if it’s raining I will take transit or drive instead. Mudguards also don’t go with my “super hip minimalist road bike aesthetic” I am trying to cultivate

+1
I couldn't live without mudguards, when it rains the streets of my neighborhood have so many puddles is like biking in a river.

Ooofffff, now I want mudguards.

Chanks! That NFB video was dope. Makes me feel like a quitter for not riding in the winter.
