Oooh...how was it?
More succinctly... OSB is really high in alcohol and you can tell. It definitly has that higher alcohol kick to it. It doesn't seem like a true barleywine to me. It's like a sweet. hoppy ale with a strong kick. I've aged some a couple years, and it loses it's kick, but it gets very sweet. Almost too much for me. And today I have the most outrageous farts.
Just got some New Belgium Snow Day!
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, God said, "Let there be Lips!" And there were, and they were good, and the lips said...

The Hoptober is pretty good.
I'm a big fan of the NB Hoptober!

I always judge a beer by whether or not I want to keep going back for more,....or if I struggle to take another drag off the bottle I opened an hour ago. The Belgo I'm definitely struggling to want more. I think they've fallen into the BCBC hated trap of overdoing the hops. It's just too "flowery" and difficult to drink which I think is often the case in beers that are called "Belgian Style". I'm just glad I didn't buy a half rack of this stuff.
The Hoptober is excellent. The other beers that came with this pack are the Ranger,...which I love and the Fat Tire,....which is an old stand by and up there in my all time favorite beers (probably because it's the first real "craft beer" I ever had,....you always love the one that popped your cherry the most).
Fell back in love with Berkshire Brewing Co's Coffeehouse Porter all over again last night. And their Russian Imperial Stout was mighty tasty as well. My bro-in-law got a bottle of St.Bernardus Abt 12 Belgian Abbey Ale on deck for tonight. Needles to say, this has been a most excellent Thanksgiving visit.
