when i dialed up the YouTube for this, i couldn't resist synching up the version on my CD decks so it was two bars out of sequence but beat-matched so the synth line would go "buuuuuu-wow" ("buuuuuuuuu-wow") and echo itself like a foghorn.

my favorite Aphex story is the one about how he'd agreed to do a remix for House of Love or some group like that and then forgot all about it until a messenger showed up at the studio on a motorbike to pick it up. after having an "OH CRAP" moment, he grabbed a random DAT of punishing d&b racket off the shelf, gave it to bikeboy, and nobody was the wiser until he told the story years later.
