My school bought a Fender MIM Jazz Bass for Jazz band. I was the first one to play it straight out teh box, honestly I thought it would rule to play a never before played instrument, it actually sucked. The frets were sharp, the strings were wicked out of tune and dirty too. But the neck played nicely (on the back) the fretboard is okay. The action was kinda high too, even though I like high action you would think that the company would send their instruments out with a more even set up.
I told the band director all of this and then asked for an allen key to correct the action and the intonation to which he says "I want to let the bass get used to the room." Although that isn't a bad response that isn't going to solve the problems the bass has, dumb band teacher.

Only got round to buying We Will All Be Dirt by The Ronald Raygun last week for some reason, and I have not listened to anything else since. Best record or best record?

Ordered a half a dozen CDs today. All being shipped to my office. I'm already like half of this place's mail load as it is because of how many books I order.
