That sounds awesome.

it should be. the writer is David Gans, who's done several books on the Dead; i have known him tangentially for awhile because we both post on a Dead-related forum and have met a few times in real life. he's a nice guy with intelligent opinions, not a fanboy, and he's also a musician, so we'll be able to discuss things in musical terms.
i could have put him off, but he happens to be playing here in Felton on Friday night so it seemed simpler to see him now rather than arranging a whole other trip for him to come down from Oakland. and besides, i kind of like the fast/complex scheduling thing...i find it invigorating.

Housemates are playing christmas songs downstairs, LOUD. Ughhhhh.

I originally wrote that as "shitty christmas songs" but then I remembered all christmas songs are 100% shit.

For the most part I hate Christmas - and all holidays. Thanksgiving is ok - a holiday based entirely around eating turkey and mashed potatoes is something I can get behind.
I like doing little things with my girlfriend - exchanging a couple gifts, having a nice romantic dinner. But, I hate the big family get togethers, and loud obnoxious meals, and the crappy gifts that will never be used or looked at again.

I love christmas, with my family it's always just me and my sister, my parents, my grandma, my aunt and her partner, no huge gathering or anything, so it's really nice. I just hate christmas songs with a fiery passion, not because they're about christmas, but because they're just terrible songs.

I have a math exam tomorrow where I have to get 61% to pass this semester... I've been learning for the past week but I just hate the stuff we're doing right now... so yeah... I'm prepared as much as possible but the rest is destiny.

+1 on the smaller gatherings.
However, I gotta say that "Last Christmas" by Wham! is my favorite Christmas song because not only does it have nothing to do with the holiday, but it's also a really bad song.
That's what makes it fun to sing.

Last Christmas is a Classic! You can't hate it!

I strangely prefer the Coldplay Christmas song tho...

Argh. Apparently my iPhone ran out of space while I was recording that noise jam I was just recording. No jams for me, then. Would have been nice if it had at least given me a heads up.

Fairytale of New York is awesome.
On topic: came back from a 0-5 game to lose on a bullshit goal with the game at 9-10. Foosball. Serious shit.

True, I don't really count that as a christmas song though? I guess all other christmas songs I think of as "christmas songs" but that's a REAL song that just happens to be about christmas. That makes sense in my head.

i think i'm getting wired from all the tea i've been drinking today. or maybe it's just realizing that i have to clean the WHOLE FUCKING HOUSE before Saturday morning. the positive side of that is that i'll be cleaning away some of the remaining traces and leftover wreckage from Kim leaving that i haven't had the heart/energy to tackle and that were easy to ignore because they were off in far corners of the house. but i'm going to have to, like, climb on ladders and shit, and i'm afraid of heights. fortunately i worked as a dishwasher when i was younger and so am not afraid of grease, dirt, or garbage. which is a Good Thing, because there are some terrible surprises awaiting e.g. in the vent over the stove.

OMG, I have an hour and a half until my exam, and I don't think I can do any more cramming. MEeeeeer I really want to get at least a C on this, but I know the instructor is super tough and pulls out the weirdest things on the exams. Sounds like a couple PBR at the campus bar while reviewing a bit more might be helpful.
