Sorry to hear that Grrr. That's bullshit. The guitar players sound like some classless asses that obviously can't be trusted. I guess it's better to find out now instead of later when you have more time and energy invested in the band.
What to do next is kinda tough, probably your best bet would be to learn everything they got, blow them away to the best of your ability and don't look back. If they don't want you back after that then they probably didn't want you in the 1st place. And you deserve way better than that! Best of luck bro!

Haha, that's what I get for writing when I'm exhausted. 2 of the 3 guitarists in the band, not 2/3s of a guitarist. Which would be interesting. And thanks, dudes. I'm not gonna let it get to me, I get that a band is business sometimes.

Yeah, it's been really bugging me all morning. I told the drummer that it didn't bug me overly, mostly due to the fact that I was already grooming another drummer (heh, that makes it sound like the drummer is a cat) for another project. It's neither particularly difficult to find another post rock band (I know one that's looking for a bassist right now) nor is it this wildly awesome opportunity. The only reason I really looked at playing with them in the first place is that the drummer is a good friend. Maybe I'll give the drummer another call and see what he thinks. He was as surprised, and honestly offended as I was, so he's kind of on my side.

....bands suck.

fucking bands. yeah, if you're mostly looking for experience, might be better to try out for that other band too? hanging with douches, while it might do wonders for your breath (ew), is fucking annoying quick. taints the fun you might get out of it. but if they're not that committed to the idea of you being their guy, fuck 'em. see if you click with some other people?
