Sigh. Just left practice with the band who just two weeks ago had assured me that I was now their bassist. Tonight, I was told that I "did well tonight, and why don't you be here again next week to practice, but after that, take a few weeks off, we're gonna audition another bassist." W.T.F. The drummer, who is a friend of mine, called me on my way home and apologized, apparently it caught even him off guard, it was really the 2/3 guitarists' idea to audition the other guy, so I don't fault him for that, but it still pisses me off.

I've decided that I'll bust my butt and learn their last 3 songs that I don't know before next week, just to give them no wiggle room, but honestly, I can't really decide if I actually want to play with those dudes. I mean, that's slimy as shit.

that's pretty dirty. USUALLY that means a bud of somebody in the band that they thought couldn't do it suddenly became available. still, shitty. if you dig the music i guess just try to get stuff down and show up with a good attitude if you still want to do it?

Eh, I told the drummer that it was no skin off my back whether or not I played with those dudes. If this falls through, I'll kick things into gear getting my drummer buddy to start up that duo with me. I still feel like playing with these guys would be good for me, and would be the fastest route to gigging for the first time, but if it doesn't happen, it's whatever.

...also, I finally tried all of those Kit Kat flavors you sent me. Best: Green Tea. Worst: Strawberry. Orange was really close behind the Green Tea.

I didn't like the Orange much, had that typical artificial Orange in chocolate flavour to me. Strawberry was nice, but not nicer than Green Tea. I've thought about sharing the Green Tea, but can't think of anybody that I like enough to give one up for.

Grrface, you're a bigger man than I am. The vindictive ass in my me would either blow their balls off then tell them to fuck themselves or join and then just not show up when they finally get a gig. But I'm a grudge holder with a damn good memory, not an ideal combination.
