I shared it last year, but at $3,999, I didn't see much reason to share it again. Too bad about the price, I might be interested at about $500. :p

Why would you buy a Pinto for the price of a Lamborghini? Or why would you buy a Casio for the price of a Waldorf? Optigans were children's toys, that found their ways into the hands of experimenters. At $4K, they're completely missing the mark.

Good thing there is a USA Today to earnestly review the stupidest new NAMM products.

In that guy's defense, his name is Jefferson Graham. You can't grow up to be cool with a name like that.

Also, that guy looks to be about 60 in his Twitter page. Did he miss the entire 80s, or was he too busy listening to Air Supply in his apartment to ever watch MTV?

Sticking with impractical synth projects....

This Gamechanger 'Piano' is a 12-voice poly with DC motors in place of VCOs. They hope to crowdfund it in the spring and ship it before Christmas. Considering the size and customization necessary, this seems logistically impractical on a variety of levels. I will say there are some cool sounds in the demo, but you could run a cheap digital organ through a pitch shifter and tremolo for similar results at a fraction of the cost. (FF to 8:56 for some of the best sounds) :?:

The filtery/pad one? If so I have one and it's actually really cool.
Is there another?
There's a V3 of the Astronaut Reverb coming out in the upcoming two months but I haven't seen much on video on it!

Has anyone seen footage of Black Corporation from this NAMM? I know they're there, but haven't found any videos yet.
