I had Runa a couple weeks ago which comes from the guayusa leaf. It was good! Expensive, but most of those high potency leaves are.

Got an aeropress recently to replace the desk sized french press I dropped and smashed. It's a good way to make coffee at work! I've got a million comments about how complicated it looks but actually it's super simple to use once you get the hang of it and it will make one lovely cup of coffee.

I love weird stuff, but I definitely have zero interest in consuming anything that's been shat out by an animal, haha...

Yeah cold brew is funny. I know that that process yields less oils and give it a longer shelf life, but my comment is that it usually tastes sort of flat / lacking in much character. I enjoy the convenience of grabbing one in a can, but I'd much rather have a real cup of coffee :idk:

I nailed cold brew once. I used some leftover beans so they were older, and I let it sit for like two days. It was pretty marvelous. I think it was Colombian bean but it could have been Arabic. Who knows? It was good though!

cold brewed works well if you hand crush your beans with a mortar&pestle and use brandy instead of water :thumb:

I thought the same about cold brew until I starting making it myself. So much better!

Cold brew is only as good as the beans used to brew it.

I've made it myself with one of those Toddy things, but only with chicory coffee... I feel like that's it's own whole unique thing (and it was actually really tasty as cold brew), so I should try making some with more standard beans.

Pop: That sounds great. More up my alley. I love smokey and chicory tasting black tea so I think it would be interesting to try this approach.

Chank: Did not know that, interesting. I also did not know Arabic coffee in the states primarily comes from Yemen which is odd cause they are not an ally of the states.

I put sugar and milk in my brew today. I never do that but it was one of those stay up till 5 in the morning sleep in till noon days. For whatever reason something happens to me in August where I become the least ambitious person.
