Ugh. My CV Jazz sounded like crap tonight. I haven't set it up properly since I bought it, and I just noticed it's almost 20 cents flat on all of 12th+ frets. Plus, the roundwounds that are on it are super dead.

Recommendations on strings? I play that bass more finger than anything, I use my PJ for my picking.

No idea. Whatever came on it from GC. I use DR Hi Beams on my Yamaha, which are really nice, but I don't feel like they'd fit the Jazz right, tonally or whatever.

I've got a set of Slinky's on my Stingray right now, but when it comes down to getting new ones, it's gonna be a choice between either Blue Steels, or some Nanowebs. I loved the feeling and tone of both, but the blue steels have been my string oh choice for a long long time. They sound fantastic, and stay sounding fantastic for a long time. The Slinky's aren't bad at all either, just a little heavy in the honky mid for my taste.

The Nanowebs I had on a 10 week trial. I slapped them on my jazz bass, and honestly they took about 15 seconds to get used to. The tone was pretty punchy and bright, so if vintage is what your after I'd steer clear from them.

I won't get DR DDT strings again though. Feel was nice, tone was not. Died pretty quickly too.
