I agree with you guys, I don't really get it. All the issues bought up by this controversy are ancient and have been hashed out billion times already. *super bored voice activated* We need women in video games if we want to improve the medium, doxxing and threatening people is never cool, internet mens rights "activists" are insane people and/or 14yros, traditional gaming media has always had problems, games as art and games as games can exist together and can be successfully combined, if you don't like either then don't play them and don't just look at the completely arbitrary score given by the reviewer when deciding to buy, AAA developers suck balls and sometimes indies suck ball and most of the time people suck balls. I mean for fucks sake, none of this was new and you didn't give a shit a year ago so why now? Also, they're just games. If you do your homework and don't preorder like a dipshit then you won't get burned too often. Done. Now please internet, shut the fuck up about gamersgate.

MrNovember wrote:Hmm that really makes me want to play BL1. I never did. It was a game that I thought looked terrible at the time. I was never a fan of shooters. But then I played BL2 somewhere and had to buy it. I'm thoroughly enjoying going back through it; beating TVHM and the DLC. Fairly excited to get the Pre-Sequel as well

DO IT
Best game since starcraft 1, hands down.
It got me actually excited to play, the level design is awesome + everything other people said about it. Worth the time.
I thought about making a stream/playthrough and making a soundtrack to it. Listening to Jazzsteppa while headshooting everything and their mother is.. rewarding

Anyone else got Beyond Earth yet? I only got the chance to try it out for about half an hour earlier, first impressions: Civ V in space. From the time the main menu took about 5 minutes to load, I was like yep, same old same old.

Don't get me wrong, I still love civ v and I'm sure BE is much more different than I had the time to discover in just half an hour. But despite all my expectations that this would happen I held out an insane hope it would be more different. :idk:

Does it keep you engaged? I've heard the whole running from an Alien thing can get kind of old after a while and it loses its impact/scariness. Looks cool though.

I'd be more worried about
NSFW: show
other enemies later in the game ruining the atmosphere... that's at least what I've heard.

I'm dying to play both these games, but I guess that i'll just be waiting for price cuts. :idk:

Alien seems like it is totally my thing and I know that i'm going to get down with it easily.

Got Civ in Space last night, haven't had a chance to play it yet. All the reviews state it's a bit underwhelming considering it's the civ V model, IN FUCKING SPACE. To be honest though, I'm kind of digging the weird geopolitical back story and it sounds like it could be pretty cool. I have been hankering for a strategy in space kind of venture for a while though. So this might just satiate my needs.

Definitely want to hear more opinions on Beyond Earth. I really want to play it. I would honestly be alright if all it turns out to be is a space themed Civ 5. Don't know if I could pay full price for that though

Number one you don't run from it. You die if you do.
It doesn't get old for me... The game changes things up. Tension remains, atmosphere remains.
Then they do cool stuff like drop in a flashback mission, flamethrower mission etc. it's cool!

It is possible to get good at avoiding the alien that's my only critique. Once you have the flamethrower you get cocky too as you can scare him off. The big bastard. Haha

Not in the slightest.

To be fair, Civ5 didn't originally launch with the best standards, but it got a lot better with the expansions later in it's life. Same thing will happen here I think.

Honestly, I feel ripped off after buying CM for $5 via Steam Sale.
