Why are people on TB such low balling bitches? I don't understand. I put my bass up for trade there and people are PM'ing me telling me it's worth less than it is. I had to post links and a new thread to prove value of it. What's funny is the people that say it's worth less are sending me links of basses that aren't the same as mine. What the fuck? I've only has like 1 good offer and it was for a 1978 Fender Jazz in immaculate shape.
I don't really need to get rid of my bass, I know I've done this before, but I wanted to see what my options are. I'm just bored with the tone. You know? Anyone else go through that?

Thing are tough all over man. People are gonna lowball if they can.
I went through the exact same thing last summer, where I got totally fucking bored with my Carvin. I'm so glad I just went ahead and sold it; I am totally in love with my G&L now.

I think I'd instantly have sellers remorse if I sold it. I'm actually trying to trade up a bit and people are just being so weird about it. Even the people that are interested want way too much cash on their end. Oh well. It's definitely not going to kill me if I don't trade this thing. I've had it 3 years and can hang onto it for another 3 if need be.
I'm selling high end books too elsewhere and people are low balling the shit out of me on that as well. It's so annoying. If you can't make a decent offer, then don't make one. Seems to make sense to me.

I admit that occasionally I have made an offer lower than the posted price if the ad is worded like "...asking $XXX..." or "...OBO...", but I'm careful to ad that I'm not trying to intentionally lowball...this is what I can afford to pay right now (which is the truth). I think of it as a weirdo form of sales karma...I don't lowball them when they sell in the hope that they don't lowball me when I sell. So far, it's actually worked.

I say this with love, but how can you be bored with your tone when your pedal board completely changes twice a week?

Or perhaps that's why it is in constant flux, boring bass.
Maybe you can get a second (or third) bass? Variety is a good thing and will help you love your bass more.

I don't have the funding for a new bass at the moment. I wish. I'm thinking about just saving up.

Man you should have seen the hell I caught when I was selling a First Act Custom SHop Bass on TB. I patiently explained that yes this is the same name and company as those Wal-Mart basses BUT this is handmade in the USA and tons of PROs use these instruments. Mods were having to clean that thread-up bacause of what people were writing. How can you ask $750 for that Bass! etc. etc. I ended up getting $750 from someone who knew what was up but that was rough.

Yea it's just annoying that people are offering me basses that are worth like a grand less than mine. I think I'm just going to keep it. I played it again tonight and love the shit out of it. When are you going out of town Delta??????? This Darth is ready to go man!

Phew....well I'm hoping it picks up, soon. I have to offload a head, two cabs, and a massive all tube power amp. I'm forcing myself to use a friend's practice amp until I sell these and can afford proper cabs and a preamp for the other power amp I bought. And fuck.....the new power amp. All motherfucking tubes. Sounds awesome....but I just put $350 on that Swell Tube/OD pedal. I'm either going to not dig the Mesa Boogie 400 power amp and go back to solid state/keeping the Swell....or I can't justify the Swell. Gonna lose a lot on that. Not many any the market for one of those.

It's good stuff. I mean....if I were staying with a SS rig, I would almost consider it my most used pedal. Ha. The B-Drive's still being built for me and I'm calling it my most used pedal. I'm ridiculous. But it really would be a must for me. That way I could keep that hi fi sound but then get tubeness when I need it. The Mesa Boogie power amp I'm moving to is supposed to be able to get pretty hi fi and clear for a tube rig......it might be obsolete.
But who knows....maybe I can find a use for it. And then maybe I'll not dig the Mesa Boogie. I'm for sure feeling in over my head with it. Once everything sells it'll all be cool. But if all this shit is sitting around the house for too long, wifey'll decapitate me.
And yes, Delta. You can have my fucking Timeline if I get decapitated. Gawd.
