there's no such thing as closure. trust me on this: i've been married twice and had a 13-year unmarried relationship. you never get over it, and it never gets better...it just gets farther and farther away, and you start to see the negatives about your ex that you didn't see when your noses were inches apart.

You know, that's kind of comforting. A bit sad and painful, but it's relieving to think that this feeling isn't something that has to go away in order for me to move on. & might I add that your expression was written beautifully.

i think of something that my most recent partner said to me just as things began to fall apart: "i'll always love you. I may not be able to be with you, but i will always love you." i didn't stop loving the women who left me just because they broke my heart, either. i ran across my second wife--the Love Of My Life--on LinkedIn the other day and broke down crying. the years we were together were the best of my life; everything since then seems dull, unfocused, and lacking in contrast like underexposed 16mm film. but i've had to learn to put that reaction and those emotions away, or i'll spend my life in grief. cognitive therapy has been my friend.

I don't really have any feeling, positive or negative, for my previous involvement whatsoever. Of course friendship is out of the question because I have a habit of burning bridges rather thoroughly.
I'm actually way more broken up over a falling out with a good friend that happened last year.

I give some feel to all the ex talks, though not sure if I can give confessions with this user name.
My reaaaal confession, however, is that I've been on everyone of Devi's forums since the old black and green one, and don't know why I didn't find time to anymore. And now everything is alien and frightening, what if this is some kind of cult forum now? Or you're all bots?? Or worse?! Also I sold most of my pedals, rest is at ex house in another country, I don't even know if I'm allowed here.

funny...i quit trying to go to Devi's forums because beyond their intermittence there started to be a kind of creepy Devi-worship contingent.

Hahaha that's totally true! She was pretty powerful on the internet then for sure. No wonder she quit the internet forever every other month

Whaaaaaat? You're old school - of COURSE you're allowed here!
Now, I can't speak to the cult of bots part - I don't think I'm a bot, but maybe that's just because I've been brainwashed by the cult to think that way.
As for the presence or lack of pedals, we can tell that you've got a fuzzy soul. Or maybe that's the cult talking again.
Either way, you're totally welcome here!
