I just got my Megalith today. I'm a bit torn about it. I dig the sounds coming out of it for the most part. I like it more on bass than guitar. The only thing I don't like is that the clipping seems a bit too square wave for my liking. Been playing around with it on and off all night. Going to give it a little more time. It's got a lot more low end than the Big Spider, but even the octave qualities of the Big Spider aren't as square/hissy as the clipping of the Megalith. I've been keeping the slope all the way down to combat the fizz, and the notch on 3 and around 3 o'clock to boost the mids

Numero uno....post a pic

I just loving seeing them
#2 It's VERY sensitive to what you're feeding it. You playing the Kramer through it?

Switched out the knobs because such a big fuzz needs big knobs. It's #38. And yeah, been playing the Kramer through it. Usually play in the neck, but thats where it's been really square. Putting it in the bridge isn't as bad, but still noticeable. I've been using the buzz box for sub octave shit on top of it

Try turning the input way down. I usually keep mine around 9:00 or less. It's pretty sensitive to what's going into it.

I'll have to try that out. I like the super saturation, just not the square clipping

Definitely.
Skull - By the pic, you have the input all the way up which could/will cause problems depending on the bass, impedance, etc...
Where's da Spidaaa?? Nooooo!!!

Spider is in the corner! I am definitely digging the Spider into the Buzz Box but I'm trying to keep the board super minimal. Been A/B'ing stuff a majority of the night. I think tomorrow I will mess around with JUST the input knob and see what happens

I find that it will really overload the pedal with it up like that. Making it sluggish and square waved. Also try the notch on 1 or 2 and around 11:00-2:30

I had that experience on guitar as well, loved the saturation but the clipping was too squarewave and fizzy no matter how I tweaked it, my guitar or my amp. This was just guitar to Mega to amp, no other pedals. I'd like to try it again with my sparkle motion as a dark boost to tame the top end.

Uhhh..... I was staring at the mEGAAaaa. Didn't see the spider
One other thing.... Alan added an input buffer on the newer 'liths, Behemo's, and Mag's to help them play better since the circuits are very sensitive to anything its fed.
I'm gonna guess no, but maybe ask him if he could mod yours? Even though the Kramer is passive, every PU makes a difference with the Mega. Do you have another bass you could try it with?

So I have a crazy idea kicking around in me head that I was gonna ask Alan about to see if he could do. Since the Megalith , Magnatar, and huge box share the same eq. I was wondering if it would be possible to combine a pair of them into one box? I have to think about it some more but it's in the head space right now.

I remember putting the Mega around 3 o'clock and not being as upset with the clipping earlier today, but it was still present. Demon, Ill have to try that out. I like the thud of the 3rd notch, but I'll give the others more of a shot. I've got a buffer that I'll put before it tomorrow and see how it plays as well!

Man, Alan seems kind of resistant these days to anything too custom. i asked him about a few things and essentially he just wasn't willing.

Yeah, he's really not doing custom things.
And the EQ's aren't the same in the Mega and Mag. I asked him very specifically about this, and they are different. Similar but still different.
The only thing that's the same is the Huge Box and Heavy Mach. Heavy starts with the Huge Box and expands on it with the notch/mids.
