You see, that's the thing. It never really ends. It could have....a long time ago. But no one wanted that. They say they did, sure. But how many came back? How many kept peeking in through the door. Like some insomniac, the brain says "hey, doofus. You're hungry" so you go in the dead of night, tripping over the creaking sounds the floor makes, over past where the A/C kick on and you open the refridgerator. You don't know what you want or why you're there but inexplicably, there you are standing, scratching yourself, peering over the contents that you knew were there. Like somehow opening the door would yield another result. As the harsh light of the singular bulb in a box pours onto you and your befuddlement you haven't a clue what to eat. All of your friends are there. The neglected jar of pickles. Half a stick of butter. Mostly empty Jam. It is like the most depressing episode of Cheers. You know the one the director wanted to be the ending until everyone talked him out of it. Well here you are, the star of this hopeless endeavor and your sad friends, the cast are glaring back in eager anticipation. You walked in from one side of the stage and have immediately forgotten your lines. If it was ever really going to be the end, everyone needed to have just gone to bed. Curfew. Marshall Law. Take your pills and dream. Lights out. Pull the covers up and forget about the dumbest day ever. But that's not how it goes. Its always just one more article, one more episode, one more drink, one more pvp match- just five more minutes, just until the end of the chapter, just got to finish this last bit, just have to make another excuse to try to keep the restless mind from drifting to that abominable thing that eventually is settled on. Just a little bit longer. Pretending that delaying it will keep it from happening, like somehow there can be a straight shift from actively ignoring to being asleep and ignoring. If you spend enough time trying to avoid something, it tends to follow you. That's the magic behind curses and voodoo. Fear cripples the mind and the prophecy fulfills itself. Going to bed doesn't fix anything. You just lay awake and stare at the ceiling. You close your eyes but still see the ceiling. You know its there and nothing has changed. Enough time passes and you hear that familiar voice "hey, doofus." It never stops. It could have, but that time is gone.

remember, remember, fuzz goddess Devi Ever
the dwarfcraft treason, and console forgot,
I see no reason why the dwarfcraft treason
SHOULD EVER BE FORGOT.
Devi Ever, Devi Ever
'twas her intent
To piss all over Dwarfcraft's agreement.
Hundreds of Console backers left unfulfilled
With your actions we are less than thrilled...
