I've kinda been gassing for one of those nifty Strandberg headless guitars, mostly because I'm a sucker for beautiful oveengineered things.

Yeah, that's the kind of thing that looks beautiful until it's in my hands. My superpower is the uncanny ability to make anything look stupid (the combo, not the thing). Hasn't stopped me GASing for beautiful things.

That being said, I do sometimes think about flipping it, as I could get by easily with my Raptio.

Are Snazzy FX hard to find new/used? I kinda want a Tracer City...
I heard he's starting up again this autumn, though.

i've been trying to find details about him building new/the old pedals along with his modules but have had no luck.
there was just or might still be a mini ark on ebay/reverb. i don't see his pedals pop up often, but last month there was a wow & flutter on reverb for a day or so. seems like they are pretty rare, maybe he didn't sell that many?

Ola Strandberg is from my town. I was actually going to help him out with the manufacturing, went so far as to spend a few hours in his workshop sanding unimportant stuff haha. That was right about when my first son was born and I was like "yeah, this'll be cool, I'll just come out here a few hours every other weekend". Obviously I said this before I had the experience of having children and what effect they have on your free-time = it so didn't eventuate. Anyway, all that is a way to say that I know someone who is rad and I'm therefore partially rad by association. No, I mean, it's all a way to say that Strandberg guitars are super sweet and I want them a lot. Ola is an engineer by trade, but has spent many years playing guitars and working in the music industry, so he's like a perfect storm of competencies to create a great instrument.

He posted about building more pedals on his facebook. Dude, you even have an account there, check it out. He basically asked about opinions whether he should strip them down or not. Messaged him about it, we'll see if he'll reply.

But yeah, seems like there aren't to many around, and I'm scared of what used prices might be. $500 is already pretty steep, but then again, I've never seen something quite like the Tracer. Such a rad pedal in all aspects. Thought you had some of his stuff?

Or Okko Black Beast, if you want to keep a foot on fuzzy terra? And you can get scoop or gate with the EQ and Kaputt. What say you? Look into the Green Eye and know thy truth.

neon--re: the Black Beast:

Yaz--it does run a premium. I've seen a few Black Beasts come through b/s/t at reasonable discount (and I always get re-GAS even though I still have mine--that's how much I like it), and there's usually no prob snagging one during a 20% off event at Middleman, Inc. (a/k/a teh dealerz)...Excane's demoz are righteous. I will just add that I gig both on bass and gitaar, and it's one of the few pedals I like equally on both. Maybe a slight edge on bass, but slight, and none if you like the baris, down-tuning or the Bass VI action.

And, yes, Buzzaround f'ing roolz hard--I have three builds and am scheming on a fourth (with a fourth knob). Come to think of it, I need to thin that herd. Black Beast is a predator, though.
