ct5 = fractals, so that mirror description seems pretty spot on

Seance wrote: Maybe the Mode1 CT5 is more like running through a hall of mirrors (reflections of reflections of reflections)
whereas the Bicycle delay is a bit more like running through the spiral of a fractal cave? In one case the
replications are more crystalline—the notes are jankied-up by pitch into ever smaller windows, whereas
in the Bicycle delay the rounded, smeared edges repeat the line in patterned fractal facsimiles as if
painted on the walls of a torch-lit cave.

Or...?
i own both of these & am pretty on board with this assessment

The bicycle delay-demo made me want to play more with pitch-shifted repeats on my Pitchfactor(trying to avoid GAS!), specially with drum machines.
Sounds great dude!

Nice!

It would be cool if that delay had a longer delay time so you
could use it like a delay-line looper for rhythms.

Sounds great! Looks cool!

I especially like the tapping on the pads.

Thanks, guys!

Seance: I agree, but I've had that delay kicking about for over a year now without using it. Plus, it's a tiny circuit (there's not much room in there) and it has a rechargeable battery...aaaand it will be part of my tabletop, which has a delay after the mixer that is capable of 3-5 seconds of delay time. It was basically just all about not spending money and making something neat.

Totally makes sense. You don't need a more elaborate delay inside the ScrapYarder if you
have a looper/delay after it.

It sounds and looks great. Not spending money and making something neat? Mission accomplished.

Also, I think UC and Simon The Magpie should record a duet. :poke:

Ah, the elusive UC gutshot.

I don't think that actually looks too bad. It could be a lot worse. :thumb:

Can I ask what the spring inside does? I imagine just adds resonance to all the surface hits and stuff? I'm so enamored by your clips I'm torn between doing something similar or just going from scratch with contact mics on resonant stuff.
