So this is where all the cool kids are hanging :joy:

Joined here a little while ago, but only lurked. Might start posting here more often,I think. It's getting to the point where I'd rather grind my face on a belt sander than partake in 95% of the TB threads. Same shit, different dickhead every bloody day. The moderation is over the top, but then it does a 180 and falls short in so many ways....

The biggest face palm recently for me has been the whole Os / Zeibek thing. Page after page of posts as angry as TB will allow, to then start blowing smoke up his ass as soon as the sorry fucker logs back in. Seriously... Imagine getting that kind of service from any other business out there. You'd spit it. Why TBers put pedal builders up on this mystic pedestal is beyond me. Fuck em. There are so many people churning out good pedals these days, why waste your time with someone as 'precious' as Os?

/Rant

I still read TB, but these days it's nothing on what it was a few years ago.

Welcome man!
All my favorite posters keep coming over here!

I stopped by a few days ago to add to the TB noise thing part three, look around a bit and said... eh... and came back here.

What's up KK25; good to see ya here. I've been refraining from TB. It's gotten to the point where the only thread I post in is the NHL thread in OT. My count has been at 5001 and holding for two weeks now. I'm inclined to bow out at that. Can't even really find anything of interest in TBFX, and I agree, Os fucked up, yeah he's righting the wrongs but Os has a track record of flakiness, no way ever am I giving that guy money, just to be ignored if a problem comes up, fucking forget it.

Someone with a horse in that race actually took it upon himself to PM me on TB complaining that my instigating of a pile on was uncalled for (this is the same guy with a bunch of clubs proudly listed in his sig). Sorry to be brutally honest but if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck I'm gonna call it a duck. I ignored that PM and decided my last days on TB where approaching. You are absolutely correct Karate Kid,...Os might be coming up with some interesting circuits (to that end most of his stuff is really too conservative for me anyway. He never really produced anything that blew me away), but there are plenty of great designers and engineers out there that actually stand behind their product and I'd rather give them my money (Taylor Livingston comes to mind).

I rarely post here on ILF as well,...I definitely love this forum but really don't have much to contribute so I just :poke: and :snax: put up crescent fresh tracks from Mecha Shiva rehearsals and :omg: and :idk: and let everyone know when I've taken a bunch of bong rips.

I'm basically trolling TB for the Noise Comp, info on the FEA DBD, and amps for sale..

Makes perfect sense. TB is suppose to be a tool, but now they are a corporate shill now it seems. People spend too much time these days worrying about what others think of their possessions and less time actually using them it seems.

Not sure if corporate shill is the right word. For the most part the rules seem to keep the smart people that run some of these companies from contributing. Spend too much time making sure that manufacturers aren't spamming that many of them just choose not to participate at all.

As I have said, back when I joined no adds, no rules on slagging builders as long as you didn't insult them personally. Granted you had to be able to back up your slagging but none of the current nerfedness and kid gloves with companies was there.

I think everyone is going a bit overboard in this thread. Let's all take a deep breath, shall we?

Except that grygrx is right, "freedom of speech" had nothing to do with that thread. Maybe its just the legal training, but I always cringe when I see people invoke freedom of speech on an internet forum. And no mod on ANY forum is ever gonna let a member call them out publicly. TD doesn't even allow that, really.

EDIT:: this is NOT to say that I agree with the closing of the Gnomeratron thread. But, we all know the rules over at Talkbass, and i guess I just never saw the point in whining about the rules when I know them ahead of time. I either play by the rules, or if they bother me, I don't go there to begin with.
