Well FIFA 15 came out yesterday so that's all I'll be playing for the next couple of months. Probably some Batman Arkham Origins too, has been fucking great so far.

Man, I watched the super smash bros. documentary the other day and now all I want to do is play Smash.
I play with my friends very casually, but seeing that and how much potential there is in the game made me want to get better and take it seriously.

I completely burned out on Smash after playing the crap out of Melee.
Like there's just no way to make it fun anymore, and I never cared about all the stuff those PROGAMER dudes do with the engine, so :idk:

SSB64 will always be fun.
Always.

Though at the "pro" level it gets kinda troll-y.

I like that games mostly because of the difficulty, it adds a lot emergent behaviors to the co-op gameplay that I really like. I stopped playing because of trolls, however.

I like to play games on Easy, if I like the game i'll just replay it on the hardest and if I hate it then I wouldn't have wasted as much of my time. :idk:

I just get so tired of mundane gameplay and piss farting around with waves upon waves. I'm a sucker for story and atmosphere in games, I just want good pacing.

I agree, mostly. I say "mostly" only because I play at least on "normal." :poke:
:p

As much as I love the Elder Scrolls games (for their atmosphere, etc), I hate that there's not much actual skill involved in the gameplay. Overcoming difficulty seems be done only with wars of attrition where you have to use everything at your disposal and in your inventory, or by grueling leveling-up which gets boring as fuck and makes me feel like I'm wasting my life away. Kingdoms of Amalur was fun as hell, but every time I try to restart it I get bored because there's really not much replay value, and setting the difficulty higher is pointless because all that happens is the enemies get way more life.

Dishonored had a great balance of atmosphere and gameplay, and I'm still playing the shit out of Dark Souls 2, which imo has the same. I really want to try DS1, though when I tried the "prepare to die" edition a while back, I couldn't even get past the tutorial boss

I tend to play on Hard unless I find out it's bullshit-hard, like the DarkSims in Perfect Dark -- opening doors while facing away from them, reloading at super speed, spawncamping you, firing dead-accurate every time...
Need to make a new save file on Persona 3 Portable, though...I started it on hard too without knowing that the player character dying in battle means a game over (stupid) or that there would be so many enemies that could wreck your shit in one or two turns.

Also, my friend killed the tutorial boss in Dark Souls with the broken sword 'cause he was too dumb to get his weapon. Which is actually an impressive feat, I guess. Well, both are.

Yeah, the mechanics of Bethesda games are lacking, their strength is in the world building. Landscaping? :D And keeping everything open ended, means you lose a lot of depth in the storytelling.

Switched out my ridiculously huge air cooler for a little water cooling kit, my power hungry CPU is keeping much cooler. I think the huge radiator was actually blocking a lot of the air flow. Just need to swap out one more fan and it'll be really quiet too. Looking forward to running Dragon Age III all maxed out on the tasty frostbite engine. I think I have enough spare parts from upgrading to build a little media pc for the lounge too. Going to investigate streaming games through steam.

Played a bunch of New Vegas with mods, which I hadn't tried before.
