We fear change.
So, I'm working on starting a two-man band, just me and a drummer. I'm jamming with one guy today, and another tomorrow, and there's a third one interested as well. I have TWO second interviews next week for new jobs. I...am happy!

this is basically what i want to do. i want to find a job in San Francisco, or near enough to SF that i can move back there again. then i want to get my amplifier system sorted out with two 50 or 100 watt heads running a combination of 12" and 15" cabinets, find a drummer who knows how to fill space without being overpowering, and do a two-person thing that's equal parts shoegaze, Durutti Column,
No Pussyfooting, and
Live at Leeds. 30 minute sets with no breaks between songs but tuning with the Polytune, just feedback howls while i get a drink of Coke from the tin on top of the stack, decaying delay lines, and little MBV-like guitar melodies or little tunes sung off the top of my head a la Michael Stipe. for purposes of the project i might actually have to find a tuner that'd pass signal.

I got an older Rat like two weeks ago. I was kinda worried it would be "too much effect", but it's absolutely perfect. Harmonics pop out like crazy and the distortion isn't too overpowering. It's also not too bass heavy to make it redundant with my Russian BMP. I was just jamming out and getting some awesome Joy Division-esque tones with the Rat, a booster and some light amp spring reverb. The Fender 75 I'm playing through is sooooo awesome too.
It's crazy how much my rig has changed since I joined here. I plan on getting rid of two pedals right now and then I will only own one of the pedals I had when I joined, a Tokai TFL-1. And I don't think I'll ever get rid of that.
