That's the key to a lot of things. My hometown football team went to the Super Bowl when I was nine, my hometown baseball team won the Series when I was eleven. Forever hooked on both.
My favorite team was the Saints...and when I was a kid.....yeah.....but I fucking love them. Bought season tickets in 2006 after they went 3-13 and haven't looked back.
Not saying I disagree with you....just thought it was funny.
Shiiit. I'm a Bengals fan, dude. Enough said. I'd still be a Reds and Bengals fan either way, cause that's how I am and where I'm from. The point was: significant childhood events can lock you into shit for life.

Yeah. The Saints were decent on Tecmo Super Bowl. That's probably what it was. Bengals and Saints are like kindred spirits.
Another thing that didn't stand the test of time....any Peanuts thing. I'll see someone with something Peanuts and I'll smile and be like "hell yeah". And then Peanuts Christmas will come on and after 3 minutes I'm like "fuck that shit". Click.

Yeah dude. The Saints are totally my "NFC mistress" team. I went to Purdue at the same time as Breesus and have always been a huge fan, so when they signed him, that definitely sealed the deal for me.

Right. Realism. Star Wars is about realism.
Wasn't that planet originally supposed to be full of Wookiees instead of Ewoks before Lucas decided to cutesy it up? Watching Wookiees fuck up the Empire's shit might have actually been badass. And more "realistic."

Yup Wookies was the original plan...

Fuck....Lucas wrote the original movie with a group of fellow students at college and he hired a writer to do help with Empire. The stories I heard at least. One can asume they did the cool stuff.

Jeez...do I feel old now; I first saw IV: A New Hope a week after I graduated high school, it'd been released something like two weeks earlier. And a friend of mine who was at Stanford when V: The Empire Strikes Back was released invited me up for the premier...a bunch of us piled into someone's huge-ass Pontiac station wagon, smoked a LOT of ganja, and went to the midnight showing in San Mateo. We cheered everything. And the theater mgmt decided to run it again after a 15 minute bathroom break. We, naturally, used that time to head out to the Vista Cruiser (it really was...) and smoke some more. I think we finally staggered out of the theater at around 5 AM or so. There was a Denny's right across the street. Life was good.

I was in college when LotR came out....if that makes you feel better.
We went to the midnight showing in Beaumont, drove back to Lake Charles, boarded a bus at 5am that took us to Chattanooga, TN because McNeese was playing the the Championship game and I was in the band. I went four days without sleeping, at all. We parted all night before the game and I can't sleep for nothing when stuff's going on. I felt so fucked up after that.

I saw that Mcneece pedal for sale in the classifieds....thought about buying just cause....then remembered my other priorities.
When I was a kid I did go see Empire with my Dad.....it was when it got remastered. I remember people were talking during the part where it gets really quiet and says "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...." and he started to rage. Said they ruined the best part. If I had none better, I would have said "I've got a bad feeling about this" but I was just a kid.

Clerks is cool, original would be more watchable had it been in colour, sequel is ok, but the wife annoys me, especially after that scene in Jay & Silent Bob where you get 3 attractive women in tight outfits bending over in slow mo and it is ruined by her being the fourth one. Mallrats is still one of my favourite comedies ever. On that note, what the hell happened to Kevin Smith? Keeps getting worse and worse.
