From the void comes VADER!!! Adam did that for me. It may end up housing a Megalith, or Magnetar, or a Tonebender that is going to be modded a bunch.

You gotta watch Star Wars when you're a kid. That's the key.
New ones blew donkey balls. The importance of Star Wars has very little to do with the films themselves, outside of the fact that they were essentially the Avatar/Voyage to the Moon of the 70's.

Hmm. My wife's native tongue is Farsi but if she didn't like Firefly I'm afraid she'd become The Thing That Should Not Be. Speaking of that, she does hate early Metallica. I had to come to terms with that tragic side of hers eventually, and I love her anyhow. But it did take a little time.
Star Wars were never very great films. Granted, I fucking ADORE the first one, but a lot of that is in the charm of childhood really. I love watching films as an adult that I loved as a child. Sometimes you are pleasantly surprised, like with Secret of Nimh and the Dark Crystal, both of which still rule complete face. Then there is The Last Starfighter. Truly terrible, so bad I almost wept.

Willow always ruled, even before he grow'd up and went to work for Gringotts.

That's the key to a lot of things. My hometown football team went to the Super Bowl when I was nine, my hometown baseball team won the Series when I was eleven. Forever hooked on both.
I was just young enough to miss most of the original Star Wars thing - Return of the Jedi came out when I was 3 or something. I went to see the three original films when they were theatrically re-released prior to the new trilogy, and that was the first time I had ever seen Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back. Saw all of the new trilogy in the theaters too. Objectively, as a non-fanboy and adult: Empire Strikes Back holds up as an actual good movie. Star Wars is just okay, a good piece of sci-fi for the time. Return of the Jedi had its moments, but the whole cutesy Ewok thing foreshadowed the hot mess that would be the new trilogy....

Funniest Ewok moment: driving back from work I got into a mildly contentitious discussion when my co-pilot objected to them on the grounds that "it was totally unrealistic that they'd beat the Empire with sticks and rocks and shit."
Right. Realism. Star Wars is about realism.

Wasn't that planet originally supposed to be full of Wookiees instead of Ewoks before Lucas decided to cutesy it up? Watching Wookiees fuck up the Empire's shit might have actually been badass. And more "realistic."

My favorite team was the Saints...and when I was a kid.....yeah.....but I fucking love them. Bought season tickets in 2006 after they went 3-13 and haven't looked back.
Not saying I disagree with you....just thought it was funny.
Anyways, what order should I watch the Police Academy movies in?
