Thanks, but in the end I opted for an used one with led on the left, serial number 201.
Got a noise mod chip on the way too.
Awesome pedal!

I always thought the white noise was too static in comparison with real tapes. Ordered the noise mod right away! Sounds great in the vids.

Does anyone know if the instructions are up yet on how to put the noise chip in?

1. Open up your pedal.

2. Locate the chip in a socket, found on the left side of the pedal.

3. Remove old chip - you may have to pull pretty hard.

4. Find the dot on the new chip, and put it in the socket in the orientation like the other chip.

5. the blue switch labeled "comp" now switches between your old and new noise mod.

Done!

You might want to use one of these if you want to avoid breaking legs on the IC when you remove it, btw.

there are two chips when i look at it from the back - do you mean left side from the back? (beside the ilovefuzz.com print?) ( the one that says 1714 on it)

also this one has an LED on the top - i saw that he mentioned sending it in for a tuneup. is that necessary?

It's the one left when looking at the pedal from the back with the input sockets facing up. The chip that's closest to the noise knob I believe.

Hey guys - sorry I should check here more often. If you want to send in your super old unit for a tune up reach out to me at tom@cooperfx.com

otherwise, just pull the chip on the left out and put the new one in!

Big ups to Tom for selling out of the latest Gen Loss run (in what...2 minutes?!?!) and opening a pre-order for the next batch. Continued success!

I picked up a gen loss from the last batch and while the effect itself sounds quite good, there's really noticeable volume loss with the mix set anywhere past 8:00 (ie, almost fully dry), even with the filters wide open. Is this normal? With the filters filtering I can imagine the narrowed freq range bringing the volume down, but this much volume drop seems a bit weird.
