For some reason I thought Titanfall wasn't coming to PC. I might check it out then; seems like it could be a totally awesome LAN game.

The internet says DkS2's PC release date is going to be confirmed 'very soon'. If it's not too far away (April?) I might cancel my 360 preorder, seeing as I don't even own a console.

I thought it was only for the Xbox too, but seemingly there will be a PC version released soon after the initial launch. It's hard to say how supported it will be and whether there will be many bugs as there often are when a rushed or lazy version is released, but hopefully it'll function well. What I can say is that the spec sheet demands are very low. I don't know whether that means they spent a lot of time managing it and perfecting it or whether they didn't bother upgrading the graphics at all and just 'directly transferred it over'.

I wish this wasn't the case with most multi-platform games. Sometimes a miracle occurs and they optimize the PC version, but very frequently you'll have to get used to playing a lazy-ass release where they leave in the "PRESS X TO JUMP" graphics and even the menus aren't set up for mouse use. Man, there's even a limit of 30FPS sometimes because they were too lazy to modify it for running at higher framerates without breaking the game.
30 FPS in a PC game. I SCOFF AT THEE
Dark Souls is the only PC port where the game's good enough for its half-assed release to be acceptable, IMO.

Hope Titanfall's good, though. I wanna try it out.

Yes, yes, I know. My gamer reputation has been tarnished.

I played the Last of Us DLC for a couple hours last night, Ryan. I'm enjoying it so far but I think I know what you meant about it not being what you expected. It's definitely going a different way than I thought it might based on what I read about it before it was released. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing.

Anyone here play Beyond: Two Souls? I am thinking of checking it out but was wondering if anyone could offer some opinions on it.

Ah, crap! Guess I'll just have to give it a go anyway.

Totally misinterpreted that gif. :picard:

Any pointers?

Anyone play Batman Arkham Origins? Really enjoyed the first two games but am hesitant on playing this one for some reason. Too many games to play/get caught up on.

I'm pretty much done with GTAV. Very cool game that kept my interest for months (not that I have that much gaming time). Finished with the main mission and all of my characters have like a billion dollars (literally), and I own all the properties. There are some random strangers and freaks missions to do, but that will be about it. Anything I should do that I might not think about before moving on to FarCry 3?

It's still very good, but it's nothing on the first two games. It wasn't made by the same people so that's to be expected; they had rather large shoes to fill. I imagine it allowed the original producers plenty of time to work on a 'Gotham City' title for the next-gen consoles. Definitely play Arkham Origins. It's an exciting world of Batman awesomeness, but has a few annoying changes that make no sense. Such as the grapnel hook—it just doesn't work as well as it should. Also, there are a ton of bugs and issues. If you don't mind some serious errors in coding and gameplay then it's still a fantastic experience.

30 FPS is indeed pretty bad. It would be more bearable if everyone was clocked in at that all the time, but many, like myself, can play games such as Battlefield 3 at two to three times that kind of FPS at max graphics, and if that's what you're used to then you're going to have a bad day.

I'm going to take a guess that Titanfall will not be fully optimized for the PC. However, you do appear to have access to a decent array of customizable graphics options, such as Anti-Aliasing and a few other essentials. V-Sync allows users with 120Hz monitors to surpass the limitations of 60Hz monitors and its cap on 60 frames per second by selecting triple buffering, so that's good.

On one benchmark test for the beta that I saw, the Nvidia GTX 760 at max settings and full 1080p rewarded an average of 76 FPS, which is pretty stellar, but then again, it is the Source engine and is not as advanced as something like Crytek's. I have an overclocked GTX 770 and a better CPU so I should be able to get excellent FPS with Titanfall. SLI configuration was unplayable due to tearing, which is concerning since Respawn only have a few weeks to correct these problems before release. Of course, most developers even for huge titles like Battlefield and Call of Duty are lazy when it comes to resolving issues with compatibility and bugs. For those even with high-spec gaming machines can't play Battlefield 4 without drops of some kind.

I actually never finished GTAV. I played around 80 hours and completed 75% of the game. I don't know why but I never finished the story, and once I stop playing a game I find it very hard to get back into it.

There is a checklist on the main menu that will show you what you haven't completed yet. Also you can download the manual and it will show you EVERYTHING there is to do, even the stuff that isn't required for 100% completion. I'm aiming to finish everything, including Gold on each mission, which isn't required. Like I said, though, I haven't played in two months and have little motivation to get back into it at the moment with my new PC that I finished building a few days ago.

Cool - didn't know that the game would tell me what missions are still available. You should really finish it. I liked the story and the way it ended (well..the ending I chose anyhow).

I finally ran into another one of the characters while walking around the other day too. Been hoping that would happen - I think I was playing as Trevor and Michael called me out when I walked near him and asked to hang out. That's a pretty cool touch that the other characters are still going about their day to day while I'm rampaging as someone else.

I've bumped into... myself... a few times as well. I was playing as Franklin out by where you attack the biker compound on the first mission as Trevor. I pulled over and switched to another character—I can't remember which but I know I was at least a few minute real-time drive away—and I just happened to be passing that same compound, and Franklin was just standing in the middle of the fucking road and I completely mowed him down by accident! It was the most surreal gaming experience ever. He was just standing there in the middle of the road and I came around the corner at full speed and totally ran him over. I was a bit worried because I didn't know whether that was possible (I hadn't met anyone by then) and quickly switched to Franklin to see how he was. As I switched to him he was grumbling cuss words and dusting himself off. His health was full but his armour was all gone. HAH!!

Then I tried to steal Trevor's stock truck as Michael, but he pulled me out of the car, swore at me—and used my name Michael—got back in the truck and drove away. It was awesome.

HAHAHAHAHAHA both of those are so awesome. Goes to show the insane attention to detail that went into making that game. I'm totally going to try and steal some shit from the other characters this evening.

haha that's cool! What a great detail, they really do those games up to the max.

I've been checking out Titanfall, cool game, looks like a ton of fun as a multi-player but I haven't even seen anybody actually go through the game yet so I'm curious about that still...

Too much FPS is bad for the indigestion though so I recommend something a little slower-paced, about the speed of a fork-lift... I recommend Warehouse and Logisitics Simulator.

Strap in behind the wheel of one heckuva powerful box mover and set your sails on the seas of... boxes. Move 'em up, move 'em down, put 'em here, nope not there, put it there.. all up to you. Don't like how your warehouse is laid out? Change it! Worried about hitting your fellow employees with your forklift? Don't be, you just drive right through them like ghosts! Like moving boxes of different sizes? Too bad, they're all pretty much the same size.

This game gets even weirder though, it has 2 dollar DLC that lets you operate your forklift in a warehouse in hell and there's zombies roaming around the warehouse and you can hit them with your forklift. You don't have to worry about the boxes at all in hell, so that's a perk of being there, work is way easier.

What else is new lately.. Thief is kinda cool hey? Been watching lots of Elder Scrolls Online news etc, looks really cool.

When Dark Souls 2 comes out it's gonna be right when I get the pcbs for the BitQuest pre-order.. I'm gonna stay up for 5 days straight working on 50 pcbs and watching DS2.. can't wait!

Picked up Thief the other day but haven't had a chance to play it yet. I'll probably tackle it tonight. I'm looking forward to the game though.

I also picked up Battlefield 4 and played it for a couple hours last night. It seems like it will be good, only playing the campaign right now. It has a very similar feel as the third one.

That's exciting about the BitQuest pcbs, Ryan! Hope you have fun watching Dark Souls 2 and rocking the BitQuests! Can't wait to get mine.

Ryan, why didn't you tell us about that game before? What a hidden gem!

I've always been a big fan of the Thief games so I'm definitely looking to the new one. I love stealth games the most.
