+1. it's so bad that i'll pass up opportunities to meet cool folks even though i'm lonely, and it seriously interferes with my job search because i'm afraid of/used to/expect to hear "NO."

I really want a Mosin-Nagant.
Heavy and gigantic, ultra loud, makes a fireball, meant to be fired with the bayonet attached, ones made during World War II are easily available for $100 because they were manufactured in ludicrous numbers...
Again, it comes with a fucking bayonet...
Coated in stank cosmoline that you have to clean out of everything...
No sketchiness regarding putting it in safe mode because all you have to do to render the gun completely useless is remove the bolt, which is easily done...

The idea of owning a gun is kinda strange to me for whatever reason, though.
It would only be for use at the rifle range here, I wouldn't be getting it with a home defense mentality (it'd be a crappy choice for that anyway) and I'm not really a "gun person". I feel like going to a range for me would be similar to strolling through Guitar Center; I like the things there but can only relate with the people to a certain extent.
But it'd prolly still be fun.

Confession: I don't like Doom metal. except Acid Bath(alot)...but I don't think that counts as doom. It's just slow n' sludgy at times.

I especially don't like Electric Wizard. Its like big fucking deal...same with Radiohead...I cant see what so many people see/hear in it.

Yeah, I think I like music that has "doomy elements" more than most out-and-out doom metuls. There are a few Electric Wizard songs I really like, but I'm not crazy about 'em overall.
Fuzzy whole notes at 40bpm are pretty fun to play though.

I feel this way about a lot of music. I don't like very much music that is strictly one style/genre, but once a few start mixing together I can be very interested. I always feel kind of guilty/snobby when someone hears something I like and their like "oh , you'd totally like this, too!" Nine times out of ten I don't like it at all

:idk: I like a few of their tunes but yeah to me they aren't my fave... as far as doom goes I like a handfull of bands a LOT but like anything else I tend to like a handful or bands in almost every style of music and the rest is boring to me...

I am ridden with nondescript GAS. Haven't for ages spent this much time in the bst. I have bought a pedal on a whim today and just now I sent a trade offer for one, equally whimsical. I wonder what is wrong, because, in all honesty I am completely satisfied with the stuff I have. As usual there is the itch to try some things, but that actually means ampplifiers and acoustics right now. But somehow I am on a spree.

I took another look at this. Hilarious.

My favorite quote:

"I specialize in just about every style expect for maybe "death metal" although I do play a mean double kick."

How is it possible to specialize in every style?

That sounds like a generalist to me. Jack of all styles, master of none?

Also, "maybe"? You're not sure if you specialize in "death metal"? You might?

Just saw this. I know it won't help, but my family owns a Mosin. I absolutely love that rifle. It's modified for a modern scope mount, which is a bummer, cause we had to modify the bolt. Makes things less smooth unless you know how to work around it. Still, it's a rifle that lets you know when you fired it. Raw, but comfy all at the same time. And yeah, it's heavy as all get out.

Funny, that's the other hunting rifle that sees use. A Winchester 30 06 that belonged to my great-uncle.

Ahhh, I'm gonna get one when I have the monies.
It's so cheap, and I love having projects to work on. Cleaning all the cosmoline out of everything oughta be good times, indeed.
