I noticed one of the power amp sections tubes wasn't seated properly so I secured it into the socket.
We fired it up and EVERYTHING WORKS.
The guy had said that the crunch channel did not work at all and I used that to talk him down a couple hundred.
Win.

This thing totally sounds as good as advertised. I kinda had to kick Tony out cause the wife wants to have a friday night together. Tomorrow it will get put through it's paces for real. I definitely shakes the house at 2 on the gain knob!

Damn, that thing is deep. Congrats, mate. Glad you like it.

Yeah it's a Blacktop Jag that I've butchered to contort to my sick and twisted ways

I really dig it man. I've had it for about 2 years now. Super comfortable to play, kind of heavy (but still lighter than my aluminum guitar), sounds great. The stock humbuckers that were in it sounded decent, I just wanted to try something different for the sake of trying something different so I originally threw two lipsticks in there, which again sounded awesome. Then I swapped out the bridge lipstick for a random humbucker that I accidentally destroyed, so then I put the old DiMarzio P90 in it, which is alright but nothing special. It's wired up to the white single coil so that I can have a psuedo humbucker. The neck is back to the stock humbucker. As far as everything else goes on it, I really enjoy playing it. I've written more songs/pieces with that guitar than any other. It's a beater, but a keeper!

cool man...thats what i needed to hear. one question though, what do you tune it to? i tune to C, so how does that short scale neck handle down-tuning? i guess you just put bigger string in right?

Right now it is in G if you can believe it. Before that it was tuned to a weird variation of B, and before that it was AADGBE. It handles drop tuning just fine, but I've got .12's on it. Anything smaller than .12's feels like dental floss really. It's not a very scary transition though, and I can still bend the shit out of the strings whenever

thats great news...I'm happy with thick strings, i use 12-60's but swap out the 12 for 13's...i like a bit thickness!

its also bad news because it now means i have to decide between SG and this.

I've never played a Gibson to be able to comment on quality of construction, but out of all the Fenders and Squiers I have played I definitely dig the neck and feel of the Jaguar. It's just comfy! haha

I had a Peavey Rock Master and it too was one of the deepest headshells I've ever come across. It barely fit on top of a standard 4x12

Thanks bud!!! It's taken a long time but I'm now officially happy with both boards, I haven't made a change to the guitar board in months, and theres nothing I really need or GAS for, for it. The bass board is newly complete but I don't see myself needing anything more for it to accomplish my tonal goals. So now its on to the home / big rig board..... Verellen Skyhammer Preamp down, Moog Delay and EHX Holiest grail to go, not to mention the board its self

Nick, or anyone else who has had an orange with the inductor presence/boost, what do you guys think of it? I have been going through the different schematics, comparing differences and noticed the 2mH inductor included in the circuit. I have found some comments in other forums that it doesn't have that big of an effect on the sound but I think I may include it in my build just for something a little different compared to the presence is my other amp.

its a never ending journey! I saw a clip that Verellen pedal on youtube...that thing sounds massive.

I am two pedals away from my latest board being complete...i will unveil it when its done...so many rad pedals, but i don't want to take any pics until its all done.

The one in the GT120 has more going on with it.
