Tape Synths is $49 & comes in at 10.52 GB (which is much larger than most of their budget-friendly offerings). Some of the $299 products are >100 GB though. Their servers are much faster than companies like UVI, though, so download should be 35-40 minutes. Most of Spitfire's clips have been fairly smooth and gentle. There is lot of wobble/modulation available, if you want it though.

Do you want a rare early 90s digital piano that's been recorded through Soviet tech? (wire recorders, tube preamps, Soviet flanger) intro price: 39 Euros

I had previously purchased their bundle, which I wholeheartedly endorse. However, I'm not sure when they'll add this to their complete package.

If you're into stuff like Felt Instruments or Teletone Audio, Elementary Sounds is one to check out.

Spitfire dropped Mercury today, which is based on the homemade instruments of Chas Smith.

As far as drone/atmospheric instruments, this one seems fairly dynamic. It's standalone, not a Kontakt instrument. Intro price is 99 EU/USD (150 regularly).

Chas wasn’t always a hotshot Hollywood musician. He started out as a union welder and fabricator, metalworking for the film industry, and received an Academy Award for Technical Achievement for the structural engineering of the Bulldog Motion Control Camera Crane.

Fender announced a new release of the Joe Strummer Signature Telecaster. I know signature models and relics are corny as fuck and it probably goes against his ethos but...
I'm gong to buy the damn thing.

Do you think they painted black over sunburst or just bits of sunburst where the black was worn away on the original?

I honestly don't know how they could apply patches of burst. Seems easier to just do the burst, grey primer, flat black and then go to town relicing it.

Catalinbread dropped a Soft Focus reverb, modeled on the Yamaha FX500 desktop reverb. (the Slowdive Souvlaki sound)

To really fill this out, it has to be paired with a delay and/or a drive pedal. Otherwise, it's not going to sound massive/washed out/blooming. I actually think this may be the first pedal I've heard, that sounds better in a full band context, rather than as a standalone texture.

Does this have a home in 2022, or would most people be happier stacking reverbs they already have?

The way the 2008 editions aged, they might be heavy appliques that were sealed & belt sanded thereafter, but at least the 2022 version has less relic'd hardware! The 2008 version felt extremely light when I played it back then (like almost chambered?), but the neck was superb (keep in mind that most if not all necks available at the time were either gloss poly or sticky nitro). In the 2022 world of satin finished roasted necked $300 guitars of almost every type, I don't know if the price tag for a MIM signature is really where it's at, but these seem fated to become lightly played wall hangers that just rise up in value due to scarcity/run. I would imagine a more fitting tribute to Joe would be make do with whatever guitar you can get your hands on, and maybe install a 3-pin saddle bridge, instead?

Ultimately, I'm passing on it because it isn't exactly what I need. I have a pretty amazing Number 1 (Fender American Original 60s Stratocaster), a solid backup (Fender American Series Stratocaster with a stripped truss rod), and I really want one more high-caliber Fender. Might end up getting another Pro II.
