I think like 90% of our new user base comes directly from UC videos

Mine is shipping out today, I'm so so so stoked since I missed out on it originally cause I was eating dinner.

UglyCasanova wrote:Thanks, hotknife (welcome!) and jwar. Bleed? When? The pedal is on throughout the demo, except for the first clip where I'm capturing a loop, but that's after a reset, so there's nothing to bleed. There's no bleed that I'm aware of, but I'm feeding it insufficient power and I'm playing through my crap backup amp. :animal:
Maybe it's just something white noise or feedback in the video. It was very subtle but I'm super sensitive to that shit. LOL. I think it's from all the years of playing bass. My ears are fucked up and high frequencies bother me.

At any rate.

MY BONER!
Oh, that's the amp. It's a 12 year old Marshall combo (that has been sitting in a basement for most of its life) that I got for free when I bought my first guitar, which was a knock-off made in China SG for around $150. So, you can imagine how nice of an amp that is. I just sold my home amp and I haven't figured out what to get yet, so I'm stuck using it for now.

This is the amp with nothing plugged in

I've played the 856 directly into a sound card, and it's dead quiet when bypassed.

Hahaha! It is the amp! Fuck! LOL! My Sovtek does that shit and it drives me bonkers!!! My Mesa is DEAD quite and it's a fucking tube amp too.

I'm really weird about that shit. Thanks for clearing it up though!

So mine is en route to get the skip/quant/free switch repaired, but luckily my roommate is super great and is splitting custody of his while mine is away and I still get to play with it!
I began the rough draft for my Organelle patch yesterday, I hope to get it done in the next couple of weeks. What it'll do is map the pitch transformations to keys on the Organelle, so middle C is unity, low C is down an octave, and the aux switch is up an octave. You'll ideally be able to select which of the 9 pitches you want to apply the transformation to (N1 P1-P3, N2 P1-P3, N3 P1-P3) via a knob. I'll also be adding controls to adjust the Repeat # and Free-Delta timing of the N1 group. Lastly, I'll hopefully be able to solve my biggest issue with the 856 which is the footswitches. The start/stop signal being sent when you lift up on the footswitch rather than when you press down has been probably the most difficult part of using it, so I'm mapping the Organelle's pedal input to start and stop recording when you push it down. I hope some of you other folks have both devices and this is useful to someone besides myself.

Other than that I feel pretty comfortable saying that I understand like 95% of the workflow on the pedal now and I absolutely love it. You've really gone above and beyond here, Scott & Nick. There's so much to unpack and the possibilities feel absolutely endless (esp since every setting reacts very differently to the length & content of the original recording).

Actually, it was your demos in conjunction with UC's that forced me into a financially irresponsible decision on the AARP, so don't sell yourself short. ;)

And the latest UC demo for the 856 instantly has me regretting my financially responsible decision to wait until the next batch. Hoping you'll do a demo, even if my wallet objects?

As a newer guy predictably posting in the MA subforum, I'm guilty as charged. But if we can't be weird here, then where? Actually, don't answer that one.....

I plan on stepping my demo game up this time around by actually plugging the output into my preamp instead of just recording using a phone mic.

I've got a Mig 50. I probably just need to use some contact cleaner on the jacks. Just been too lazy. LOL

So, you DFW guys with an 856, do any of you play out? I'd love to check out what you're doing with the 856 in person.

I'm currently on a hiatus from playing out so I can write/record, but I normally play 2-5x a month as either bare mountain or, starting again next year, with my band Raab Zamboni. My roommate's band Field Guide are probs the best band in Dallas and they have a record release show on 11/12 at a house in Oak Cliff!

Cool, I'm going to search all of those projects out!

I'm not sure if I'm terrible at timing or if it's a quirk of the 856 but I can't seem to time a loop perfectly on beat. I don't have an issue doing it with my ditto so just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with this.

You're pressing the switch on the beat, you need to release the switch on the beat.

Wait this is a looper?

I mean I'm sort of kidding but it's kind of an imposing bit of kit.
