Meh. I can be winning and charming and pleasant and nice to anyone for about an hour or two.

After that it may not be worth the effort.

There's someone in my class who uses "son-of-a-bitchin'" in the same way you'd say "that fucking _____" or "this goddamn ______".
So I hear stuff like "That son of a bitchin' faggot book cost me so much!" pretty often. It's really annoying.

Uhhhhhhhhh, The Stooges?

So I really hate being new at a job. It makes you feel completely incompetent. Like everything seems so easy, but you feel completely clueless all the time.

I stepped on a slug while barefoot and I can say that it is way worse than stepping in dog poop.

i totally don't understand why people have to go out of their way to be mean, unpleasant, or otherwise asshole-ish when it actually takes more time, effort, and energy to be that way. i've been trying to give that sort of thing up for years now because i just don't have the energy for it, and i just don't get why that kind of behavior is so attractive to people. sure, if someone actually fucks with you, you fuck back...but to just be evil?

A friend of mine pronounces it "Rah, Men!" like it's some kind of gay anthem. It's really subtle, but IDK it just seems kind of funny to me. Yay humor at other people's expense.

Is being afraid part of this thread too? I am working on a story about a guy that will definitely not make a good figure, but the dude threatened me, because he knows my publisher. I am going to go for it anyways, I will definitely not let that threat keep me from writing that story. But I'm still scared shitless that I will lose my job because of this.

On another note from work: I've lost out on a real scoop. I had the story first but I wasn't allowed to publish it, because the person in question had not given her consent and it was not public interest. Another newspaper had less second thoughts and if you search for Hilda Breer on Google News now, there are even argentinian newspapers that copied that story. it could have been mine.

... oh well, work ...

you should shove that threat right back into his ass by including it into your story...

I'm all worried about what I'm getting my secret santa dude. I've gone through his posts a couple of times and I'm still having a heck of time figuring out what to get for him, cause I wanna get him something cool. Or do I get something that I know he asked for in the past? Hrmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Buy him a kitten, a puppy and a blender, everyone likes at least one of the two.

Problem solved!

On a more sensible look, do you get a feeling you know him/his style from his posts at all? If not may be choosing something you think is cool isn't the best idea... only reason I say this is because a friend of mine (and remember he actually knows me) always says he's gunna get me something for birthdays/christmas that he thinks is cool, but I think is tacky, crap or just plain something I would never use or want... so the safe bet could be an idea.

On the other hand, if you're generally good at choosing cool classy presents, do that! Sounds more fun and he'll be more suprised, presents that aren't actually something you thought you wanted but end up being something you really like are always more satisfying than something you wanted.

My motto: K.I.C.K. Keep It Classy, Kids.

I was going to post in here how I forgot to do a paper until late last night so I put it off until this morning(it's due at 11am), but then I just pumped the thing out in an hour in a half and submitted it with ten minutes to spare. Too bad I'll be late for class now(oh well it's a dumb 101 class I have to take for a requirement).
