I just took care of the one thing that was making me insanely anxious all this week (because I had put it off for months), a midterm paper that was required to pass the class (even if I don't get jack shit for credit). And the prof said he'll consider it and repost my grade for the class. He didn't say what my final grade would be but implied it would be worthwhile to get the paper in.

Now that school is officially, OFFICIALLY done, I feel soooo good. I think I might grab some beers and just lay by the lake for a while.

Yeah, I'm not denying that some individuals do contribute more than others, and they deserve admiration and recognition for it, but not blind hero worship. It's good that people don't seem to care that much about individual contemporary scientists, I'm not sure why they feel so strongly about long dead ones...

We are living in the Iron age. Long ago were the Gold and silver ages when titans and gods roamed the earth, then the bronze age where heroes appeared to slay the monsters of the world. Now we are in our own reality with nothing but tales of the past.

I've been kinda wanting to write a song on that subject matter for a while, how the original context of Greek mythology echoes our own culture stories and how we tend to try to play by those rules when they just don't work anymore. I'd call it Typhon.
