I prefer to think of delay as a variation of reverb...

The last three posts in this thread were gold, just as long as greyscales meant "variation" as "a better version of" then yeah.

apparently one of the members of Iron Butterfly was eating a sandwich when his bandmate came over, and he tried to tell the second guy about the new song he'd come up with, "In The Garden Of Eden," while his mouth was full of food. no, seriously.

I think it was that he was so drunk/stoned he couldn't actually say "In the garden of Eden" and said "Inna Gadda da Vida" instead. Name one band with a song over 20 minutes that didn't smoke dope?

Mahavishnu... maybe?

King Crimson, at least the Fripp stuff.

But the easy one is Zappa, if you're counting suites/some of the early Mothers live stuff (like the Ahead of Their Time suite).

Ah, how could I forget Zappa, cigarettes and coffee every day though. The only interview I've seen of him without a cigarette are the ones with his kids and the video of him testifying with Dee Snider.
