Well, I got myself another Strat on Sunday. I know some of you guys aren't huge fans, but I like 'em. Everyone should own a few.
This one was too good to pass up. It is a Fender Made in Mexico "Squier Series" from 1995. Basically, it is a MIM Standard, but with Squier hardware. It is a quality piece for upgrades and improvements, and at eighty bucks, it was a great deal. It was really, really dirty, but cleaned up nice.
New bridge, tuners, pots, and switch on the way. I'm keeping the aged plastics. The aging
appears to be authentic.
I may refinish this one. I am not a big fan of black guitars, but it might look nice with a black pickguard and the aged white plastics. I am not sure.

Cewl. Strats aren't the snazziest-looking guitars around, but they
are the most comfortable to play, IMO. I also think they're more versatile than some people give them credit for (especially if you're running a bunch of pedals anyways.....). I have a modded/mutilated G&L Comanche, and I like the strat-style bridge. I feel like it gives really nice sustain.

strats look sick with black on black. I prefer them with maple necks, but still, with rosewood it's all dark. I made my drummer put one on his guitar. he loved it immediately. do it.

Yeah, I am going to order a black guard for sure.
Gonna have to wait a bit, though. I blew through my guitar budget for the year back in March. Yeah, it's only $20 more, but I've already have $170 into this thing. My wife is very tolerant of my guitar acquisition addiction, and I am not going to risk that over $20... heh.
Next Amazon order, I'll get one.

Intonation! I've done it to both my telemasters. For some reason both of them required a mix of compensated and non-compensated saddles to get the intonation correct on the D+G strings. I had the steel one's laying around so I used that instead of ordering yet another pack of saddles, then I realized that if theres a tonal difference between the two (steel and brass) I can't hear it. Plus I kinda like that it looks relic'y.

Damn dude that's pretty! What's the pickup? I think it would look totally perfect with a maple freboard too.

), its a Glendale raw steel bridge with no pickup cut out. Gotta get a new matching control plate, and I'm really thinking of trying to trade for or buy a glossy maple fretboard neck with satin tuners to finish up the guitar for ever. Enough talk.... on to the pics!!!
Ohhhhh man that's a hot guitar.
