Midi documentation is up, also some typos fixed in original section.

856 Manual now with midi details
baremountain wrote:Hey Scott, I sent you an email last night. I had suspected something was wrong with my skip/quant/free switch, but wrote it off as user error. However, I A/Bd my 856 with my roommate's and the switch is indeed not working :(
we will send you a definitive test procedure shortly.

man, the learning curve on this thing is STEEP. i spent several hours last night with it & i still have no idea how to recreate sounds i happened upon & , honestly, only a dim awareness of what it can actually do! i printed out the manual (last night, i was trying to navigate it on my phone, which was basically impossible) and i'm gonna keep plugging away tonight...

Sent you the videos!
Also am I correct in understanding that the pitch transformation range is greater than -1oct to +1 oct when sending MIDI messages? For instance, would a message of value 84 sent on channel 5 cause the first pitch of N1 to play back up 2 octaves?
If that's not the case, can you explain what the comment about having " more range than is available on the physical interface"? As I understand it, that goes from -1 octave (=48 MIDI) to +1 octave (=72 MIDI).

I'm right there with you on that. I hadn't considered printing the manual, but that's a good idea. Would be nice to have it sitting beside me while I'm learning how it works.

Yeah I'm definitely going to be printing the manual too. I got mine today, and only had a few minutes to play with it so far, which was definitely not enough time to get the hang of it.

Mine finally made its way to sunny New Zealand. Gave it a quick test drive. This sums up my experience thus far:

Thank you! This place has been a great read over the years. I'm a bit forum shy, but I'll try to be active when I can.

Fuck you so much UC for doing that demo!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH! Now I want one more than ever! :( LOL

One question. Is there a small bleed on the unit? I swear I could hear it in parts of your demo. Was it coming from a different pedal maybe?

Thanks, hotknife (welcome!) and jwar. Bleed? When? The pedal is on throughout the demo, except for the first clip where I'm capturing a loop, but that's after a reset, so there's nothing to bleed. There's no bleed that I'm aware of, but I'm feeding it insufficient power and I'm playing through my crap backup amp. :animal:

Maybe it's just something white noise or feedback in the video. It was very subtle but I'm super sensitive to that shit. LOL. I think it's from all the years of playing bass. My ears are fucked up and high frequencies bother me.

At any rate.

MY BONER!
