DUDE 13 SONGS.
In a rare monent where we synch up, yeah dude, 13 Songs
EDIT: "Synch up" makes it sound like it's our menstrual cycles. Everybody else is like, "Sounds about right"

13 Songs was always a bit too raw and demo-y to me. A band finding their feet. Same way that Steady Diet sounded like that difficult second album. Great songs on both, but not cohesive enough as a whole. Kill Taker is where everything came together to form a perfect album*. From the darker songs, the running order and production to the slightly creepy, mysterious photo of them in the tape liner notes. My brother bought it when I was 13 and it fucking ruled both our lives for the longest time. They were my first live gig in Glasgow, in 95 (when I was 15) too. It still amazes me that they used standard tuning on all their songs
*IMO, nothing worse than some bozo telling people what the "best" thing is.

Yeah Kill Taker's my favorite too, by virtue of being the 'first' Fugazi record I ever bought, but I just can't imagine someone listening to just one Fugazi record in the age of the internet for any period of time.

Don't do The Argument next. YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY

Pretty much. The Argument is a great record but I think it's even better when you can listen to it as the career endcap it turned into.

LOL, my favourite thing in the world is Best of Lists, Top 100 Lists, and arguing about them.
I'd fit right in with the
High Fidelity crew... especially Jack Black's character LOL
I see him as a role model. I have always wanted to own a record store and recommend people albums *heart eyes emoji*

I tend to become overwhelmed with all the options the Internet provides and primarily listen to the albums I own. I like the Internet for discovery/introduction but tend to do my heavy listening offline. It's helped me feel more connected to the music I choose to listen to. I started downloading discographies at the end of high school and I just became so passive about everything because I always though I would find something better somewhere else. Paradox of choice.
I'm more in tune with my taste these days, though. I'll probably purchase some streaming service before I hit 30

Repeater and 13 Songs always duke it out for primacy for me, but I love the entire discography. When I'm totally zonked out at work, I often find myself humming "I'm So Tired" from the Instrument soundtrack without even meaning to.

Yeah, they're great for recommendations, which is cool if there's something on a list you haven't heard. I'll check out all the lists and hope there's something in there that I like (that's why I'm in this thread). I enjoy people listing their favourites and explaining why. Other than that, I don't really pay attention to any kind of official best-ofs because we're all different and like different things and the one thing some nerd in Brooklyn looking for hits on his website literally can't do is give me a reason to enjoy anything that has no effect on me emotionally. I'm not going to listen to anything because I feel I have to or because it's supposed to be good. I'll enjoy it if it tickles that particular bit of my dick. Like D.o.S and I's favourite Fugazi album is the one we got first. Does that make it the best one? Yes. BUT WHYYYYYY *spooky*
You know what? Fuck it, Fugazi are the best band of the year. There, I said it. You're all WRONG.

The bit where they're whistling along to that in Instrument, so good
