You could say I went through a phase.

I like the fancy wood grip Chemex. Used the six cup version for quite a while before I got the Kalita set.
Kalita's flat bottom filter design is more forgiving than the Chemex. Nice, flat bed.

I love the way the wood Chemex looks, just don't like cleaning it and dealing with that leather tie that never wants to stay tight. Plus after a while the wood will get funky as it gets small bits of water on it over and over.

tried it, not the worst thing in the world

very small amount can pull bitter tastes out,

it's not going to make terrible coffee into great coffee but it will make it drinkable, but so would a small splash of water.

I am in the worst coffee rut, think i need a work french press again.

I have a secondary French press I use as a milk frother, it works pretty well.

i love coffee. my favorite way of making it is my mocha express. dark roasts are my fave.
