A electronic track I sang on about a year ago. The dude I did it for is worth your time if you like computery noises.

Re: Let's hear your music!
Looking for some feedback on this tune I'm working on right now. Haven't added drums or guitar yet, and it's only the beginning of it.
(this is the midi export of GP5 so it sounds bad to begin with, and for some reason the bass sounds almost like an organ...)
The first like minute is just the bass looping the same line, but don't worry - it's going somewhere.

Good or no? Should I scrap it?
I'm liking it less and less.

My attempt at being lofty and epic with Garageband and the shortest loop function EVAR. Also reverb.

I really like the bass, makes me think 70's retro stuff like Stereolab or Air or such jazz. I'm not such a fan of the piano, but that might be due to the sound. I'd rather have something like a farfisa. The strings work quite well and pull the piano into the track, so if you'd replace the piano they might sop working. And you need a choir of heavy breathing chicks. Seriously though. I could see that going lot's of ways. Retro would be the easiest. A heavy distortion guitar fuck-all might work as well. It would turn into something like Isis, but going both ways: at the same time softer and sexier and also harsher and more abusive. Go for it. There's something in there I think.

It could go places, it's nice. It's tough to listen to it with MIDI and all, but it's definitely compositionally sound.

I dunno - I actually like the MIDI organ/bass sound! If you added a little bit of analog effect to it (maybe some verb or a weird Sea Machine-esque chorus), and put some real guitar over that and it could be a cool contrast. Nonetheless, I look forward to hearing how this develops.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Thanks! I like your stuff too, have you ever heard the Smith Westerns before? Some of it reminded me of that...
I actually just cut some new stuff last night and posted it on my soundcloud if you wanna take another listen.
