Wow, I haven't even thought about lighter tunners.
Im guessing that would help in avoiding the dreaded neck dive and such.
My room mate wants to get a resonator EGC.
He is waiting for me to get mine to see how he likes it.

Agreed. I'll have a Bigsby , figure this bridge should work out nicely.

Yeah, Kevin uses those tuners on Chessies and says there's never been a neck dive issue. That model also has the smallest headstock of 'em all, again, a defense against the dreaded neck dive but the tuners are light as a feather when compared to a standard set of Grovers or whatever.

These guitars look so freakin' awesome. As soon as I'm done with school, I wanna start saving for one.
Can you not get a thicker neck, though? Is that when neck dive starts to become an issue?

You can get the neck thicker, they'll just carve more aluminum out internally to compensate and avoid dive issues.

Just shipped out the Obstructures to Kevin. I think he will have it by Wednesday, and I might even have it back by Friday

That would one hell of a lightning fast turnaround, godspeed! You doing pickups and fretwork? New frets or leveling or he'll decide when he sees it? What size frets anyway?
Whew, that's all my questions for now.

Yeah, I was surprised when he told me that between the pickups and the frets that it would only take him a few hours and that he would make every effort to get it out same day to me!
I told him to take a look at the frets since they were a bit discerning to me and see what he could do with them. He made it sound like he was going to replace them, and I kind of hope he does. He said that Obstructures doesn't glue their frets in when they put them in, and that he would make everything 'solid' before heading back to me. So hopefully that means new frets, because I don't see how he could glue them in without taking all of them out.
We will see what he says when he gets it I think. Should be there Wednesday and I'll have another update. Not sure what fret size he uses... I think I've been using medium jumbo for ages now
