Re: the happiness, excitement, and general contentedness thr
Last night at work, I realized that you could make money by trading currencies and playing to exchange rate disparities by investing in countries that may see an economic power increase. I figured that currency exchange as a means of making money would probably be illegal, because it's a manipulation of the non-gold standard market, but I also counted on a loophole system, because there's no way people with millions of dollars wouldn't want free money with a little effort. I didn't think I was the first person to come up with the idea, but I figured it probably wasn't very well known.
Turns out, my idea is called Foreign Exchange Market, it exists, and there's a lot of people doing it. I feel kind of brilliant for having come up with the idea on my own.
I found a site called FXCM that has a set of tools given to account holders that actually tracks world currencies and lets you trade them. They also have a simulator that starts you with $500k in virtual money, and allows you to follow markets and trade money, ignoring market liquidity.
So, I'm going to try the simulator, and see if this could be a worthwhile investment. Microaccounts start at $50, so it might be interesting, at the very least.

Welcome to the 21st century economy. Money for nothing, and your chicks for free.
Theoretically, I could just lay in bed for the next 28 or so hours.

in the 8th century, you could lay in bed for 2 weeks, go check your crops, and then return to bed for another 2 weeks.

except that you had to water the crops, weed the crops, feed the crops, keep the rabbits and deer and crows and all away from the crops...being a peasant isn't just fun and games around the fire, you know.

well, it was supposed to be just a random funny insert but:
watering the crops - irrigation, feeding the crops is done when you till the soil, once after the last culture was in the soil you give them half, and before you plant the next one, you give the rest of the nutrients, rabbits are solved with cats, deer and cows with fences.
being a peasant is hard work, but you have a period where you CAN lay down and relax to admire the world around you, take sheep or cows for a "walk" or something else that's nice. people in the Kavkaz mountains (I don't know how you guys say Kavkaz, if it's different or not) live over 100 years. combination of "Not giving a fuck.", fresh air, clean water and stress-free healthy life.
I'd like to have a house somewhere far from the city pollution, and have my own garden where I could grow food for myself, but still have access to the internet and instruments. I'd be genuinely happy for the rest of my life I think.
