One time a hardcore band I was in was auditioning a drummer and he had somehow got his hands on 4 20" Paste Rude crash/rides. He had hats and then 3 of them set up as crashes and one as a ride on a 6 piece double bass kit. All rude, all the time.

And then there's this. Nearly 4 hours long. A concert in Germany in 1983 with Maiden, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Ozzy w/ Jake E Lee, Quiet Riot, Krokus and the Michael Schenker Group.

I've always been a Sabian guy but have always liked how in your face Rudes are. They barely ever come up used on Craigslist...especially for such a smokin' price. I couldn't pass them up. I absolutely love 15" hats, too.

14's are useless. They don't slosh right. When I played I lucked into some 15" Zildjian medium hats that were great for anything heavy or loud.

You can get a used Timefactor for 250 or less now. Its a littl emore than the DL4 but it is one of those buy once, cry once deals.

Officially handed in my dissertation. No more coursework deadlines ever again, only 2 more lectures tomorrow and then I'm FREE.

This of course, is discounting the terror of the next few months for exam preparation....

Recently acquired a piece of gear I figured you all might appreciate, never have I played an amp that reacted so well to fuzz.

I present to you the Verellen Meat Hammer, 300w all-tube hi-gain guitar amplifier. This thing is absolutely incredible, capable of achieving any crushing doom tone you have ever heard or could imagine:

Image

Specs
6x6550 power section
6xECC83 pre
Clean and Gain channels
Boost on both
1/3 power switch turns off 4 tubes to bring it down to 100w(for those brickheaded sound dudes)
FX Loop
2x4ohm out
2x8ohm out

:excellent:

He actually downgraded the meathammer. He used to put KT120s in it. I wonder what happened?

I have KT88s in my verellen. Love it. there aren't 6, but there are 4.
