PS4 next month for me. Wolfenstein, Destiny, The Division, Battlefield Hardline, The Order
I was at E3 last week. The other games things that look great: sunset overdrive, Ori:spirit of the forest, Shadow of Mordor, Down the road, Crackdown looks pretty fun.

I'm not sold on The Division yet.
Though I honestly don't like any Ubisoft titles aside from Splinter Cell. Far Cry and Watch Dogs are okay but I generally prefer games that are story driven.

I've been playing Final Fantasy III (Actually VI) for the SNES on an emulator.
At first I fucked up after playing all day and my save file just was non-existent.
So I had to start over.
But it's okay.
I'm glad I'm playing it, it's fun.
I love sprites and RPGs and good games and this is all of those.

My only problem is that my controller seems to fuck up every time I try to do something with Sabin to the point where having him in a party is almost useless.
I haven't played in a grip though. Should probably pick up where I left off. I should do the same for Skyrim. I've just been playing way too much Hearthstone.

FFVI is a rad game, definitely the heights of sprites.

I know. It felt like Ubisoft cracked the code this E3, and figured out how to make better games across the board. Honestly, other than Destiny, The Division felt like the other true blockbuster coming out this year. I like my multiplayer games to be with teams of friends, though. I'll be watching how it gets reviewed as they get closer to release. It looked pretty epic at the show, and the kind of thing I could see a group of my friends all playing.
Battlefield Hardline was super fun too. Grab a motorcycle and race across LA, shoot out windows to help get across the map, etc…It's cops and robbers in LA, but that premise is way more fun than I anticipated.
Shadow of Mordor was kinda rad. There's an element of chess/table top game strategy that I haven't seen in other games to date, and again, just wildly fun, not too serious looking.
I few things I didn't get to check out, but had some buzz and friends I was with were able to check out:
- Evolve: supposedly holding up on the hype.
- Dragon Age: redeemed itself from Dragon Age 2. Overwhelmingly positive reception. I never got into those games, but apparently this one is great.
- The Order: steampunk fantasy shooter in the dark streets of london?
Normally coming off of E3, I have more to talk about, but I think it's still early in the lifecycle of the consoles. By year two of console life, the hits start coming. Next E3 will probably be huge.
Also forgot about Zelda…that may make me buy a Wiiu

So true. Was one of the first Final Fantasy games I played.

Steam summer sale means I have finally bought Psychonauts, Surgeon Simulator, Goat Simulator, Plague Inc, and a couple others.
I just want to spend the rest of the month drunk playing video games

I'm like this when it comes to RTS games. Or anything where you have to click to move. Absolutely garbage at it.
I hate fog of war even though I can't imagine an RTS working without it, hate navigating the unknown, and hate losing units, especially to enemies that wiped the floor with my guys 'cause I wasn't expecting that type to be there.
So I spend way too much time setting up the optimum unit configuration, which means some kind of protection, mixed types, etc and send them out. By then I've fallen way behind. By then, they're so spread out across the map that I can't keep track of all the alerts coming in and everyone's getting fucked up.
The only way I can win is by keeping an AI or teammate around as a barrier and saving up a massive amount of resources until I can kill the enemy with a billion dudes or whatever super weapon is in the game. So bad.
I did truly love World in Conflict and Company of Heroes, though, because those games don't use the traditional resource gathering system and have more of a focus on smaller-scale battles where individuals aren't quite as disposable.
I'm totally down with turn-based strategy.
