We encountered a glitch where a huge pillar of those placeholder "loading" blocks appeared -- it stretched past the clouds. Suddenly I was getting like 1 frame per second as it started collapsing and exploding. The loading blocks turned into TNT blocks that were flying all over the place and detonating like a chain. It blew away everything. I eventually crashed and upon rejoining the server saw that there was a MASSIVE deep hole in the earth. What had been a lake was now several waterfalls and I could see into some underground tunnel systems that had been opened up.

Serious WTF there, no idea what happened.

Hahaha. Radical. Minecraft has been owning my life while I should be studying for finals.

I would really like to hear that DKCR is a good game because i grew up beating the shit out of the first 2 and sometimes the third...I was pleased with sonic 4, and now they need to bring back yoshi's island god dammit. Also, killer instinct.

i started Mass Effect 2 a few days ago

i don't like how it's all simplified and kinda easy :( but still it's a good game.. i liked it in the first ME, and i still like the interaction of characters...
And the old characters are implanted to the game really well :) Garrus just got me :omg: yay, my favourite character from the first one!

I also like some ideas - the beginning was mindblowing :)

I LOVED the first one, the 2nd one was good but not great...mostly because it was so weak on story.
Most of the game is spent doing quests about your crew members...a few "things" happen then the game just ends.
It was just a giant setup for the 3rd game (while I love trilogies, each entry should be able to stand on its own merits).

Anyone play through Dead Rising 2?

Up to the Ante Up side mission, which is an INSANELY long game of poker.
The game time doesn't freeze while you are playing, and if you've played dead rising 1/2 you know every minute wasted is potential failed mission/dead survivor.

It was bad enough when I did the high stakes single elimination poker mission, but with this one it's strip poker so they just take off a shoe or a scarf to buy back in
WTF were they thinking.

I hate the boss fights in that game. Especially the fucking chef, I have no idea how to beat him. Pretty sure it's impossible with melee weapons and you have to get an assault rifle or something.

Also the special weapons should be more durable.

Took me a while to figure the chef out, did it by accident.
There is a guy on the roof of one of the food court stands, climb up from the nearby snack machine and give him a machine gun (I didn't even know you could do this) and then just keep the attention of the chef (quick bat swing once or twice and run) while the survivor guns him down.

In most boss fights the survivors get in the way, but this one I think you NEED at least 1 to win (more makes it a cakewalk).

Agreed about the weapons...I use a spiked bat 95% of the time because they are easy/quick to make...it really isn't worth hunting down most weapons because they break so quickly.

Yeah, DKCR is great. The colors and attention to detail in all of the level designs is perfect... exactly the kind of look I like to a side-scrolling 2-D game. Tons of fun secrets to find, and some truly challenging levels that take a fair amount of playthroughs to get right. I do miss the Kroc gang, and the characters that replace them are a bit generic, but I think the weird Tiki tribe that takes over Kong Island is pretty fun. Plus it plays on the DK Jungle Beat theme. I will say that the crab pirates are a nice touch.

A lot of the music is the same as the older games, with modern touches... it all sounds really good. A lot of the levels are truly creative, too, especially when you get into the latter part of the Beach world and the Ruins. I wish the Mine Cart rides were a bit more challenging, but they're fun nonetheless.

If you loved DKC and DKC2 as much as I did (never played 3), you'll super love this one. Go get it!

I stayed up super late playing Way of the Samurai on PS2 and still going today.

If you liked Bushido Blade you will probably dig it...it's not a very well-known game and it deserves more attention! On hard you can get destroyed in 1 good combo or a few well-placed power hits. There are really not enough games these days that let you stab someone with your sword and then kick them off.

It's a pretty short game but has multiple endings; the order in which you do things leads to a lot of different events so the shortness really doesn't bother me personally. And as long as you survive or have your weapon delivered, you can use it on your next playthrough with its upgrades and learned moves. However, if you die, I hope you didn't take all your favorite stuff...

I doubt it would be more than $15. I suggest picking it up sometime!

I just started on hard mode in hopes of getting some of the weird weapons like saws.

I died a few times and ended up losing all the swords I'll never get again :picard:

:omg: This game was sooooooo good. A couple years back I remember getting a crazy itch to play it and just searching super hard to find a copy of it.

I've been playing Dead Rising 2 a lot lately. The pole arm weapon is the jams, for reals. I love just swinging it and hacking up like eight zombies at once.
